That is just horrible. I m glad you reported it. I think you should call the media. I agree that you are right about your safety in the park.

I think that these non humans should be put away forever. They are a liability to everyone. What is to stop them from doing this to another person. Cruelty to animals is the first step in becoming a mass murder. This kind of thing makes me so

Excel, I sure do appreciate you posting all those Craig's List ads. Unfortunately several of them have been deleted by the time I get a chance to go look for them but some of them have been really neat.

I was going to mention something on the one you posted about the windows. Another nice benefit of having windows in the coop is that you can see if the heatlamp is working without going out to the coop. I have one coop that's a couple hundred yards down the hill from me. It's nice to look out the window and see that the lamp is still working.

Btw, just for information purposes, speaking of pumpkins, if there's anyone close to Granite Falls that has some to get rid of, I'll take some. My birds luv em'. Leave nothing but the stem.

God Bless,

GM Royce. Yes, I do the same looking out my window to make sure light working. I took your advice and set up a timer a few weeks back.

As far as pumpkins go next year I know this might be a bit of a drive for you but maybe you could make it a multi use trip.

I talked with Remlinger farms in Carnation. I just missed getting us all on this board that could drive there set up to go into their fields to get their pumpkins. They till them into the ground after 31st. So next year will be contacting 2 weeks early and set a date for when we can come get them so they don't get wasted. I really like them not only for being such healthy food but they will after initial eating like pigs eat them through out the day.

I also contacted two Brothers Pumpkin Patch and no response.

Next year I hope to be more active ahead of time and hopefully secure all of us a bunch of pumpkins.
Maybe we could bring some eggs to the ones who say yes secure our event making it a yearly event.

Excel, that's a great idea!

For anyone in the Woodinville area I saw this ad for free ducks... looks to be a rescue. Seems a bit sketchy, but those poor things... I'd be willing to help rehome them.

http://seattle.craigslist.org/est/grd/1451209472.html

Owner abandoned 6 ducks in a back field and they starving to death, they are stuck in a fenced little area with a pond but only one person is feeding them and thats not consistent. Please come pick them up before winter hits. They cannot fly, their wings have been cut by the owner that abandoned them here.

They are at woodinview stables at 8107 224th St SE Woodinville WA 98072

Thank you for your help

I would love to get them, but I am not set up for ducks. I do have a barn stall for temp quarters though. What do you think? I wouldn't be able to keep them, but could maybe take care of them for a little while. Would need help rehoming.

I sent ya a "PM" hope ya got it!
I'm up to six eggs a day out of eight girls. I think my Calif. White is laying EX-Large eggs or they have double yolks. will find out tomorrow morning at breakfast.
I have lots of competition for my eggs. Monday the coyote came back,Tuesday a bobcat hung around all day. Then this morning around five my wife said a raccoon was at the sliding glass door.

Just got home from rescueing those ducks on Craig's list. Got real wet!!! But we got 'em. Nyrial has them and I am going to go help her get them set up a little later.Rainplace, how much trouble can a couple of BYCer's get into? Alot! Jumping into a duck pond while there is thunder AND lightning is probably not the smartest idea. But we prevailed. Nyrial did threaten to take pictures and post them if I fell in, but luckily for me AND her I didn't. They are really beautiful ducks.
