Depending on where it's at, I'd sure like to make the BYC party.

I think right now Woodinville is the tentative location. Did you see my new pics up on facebook? I got some nice ones of the babies I got from you.

If any of you need paint..............

Parker Paint in Redmond has 5 gallon buckets of interior and exterior mis-tints for free.
They have about ten buckets sitting there.
If you see a color you like and need more of same of course they can make it for you.
This is going to save me some $$$ for my sheds.
Thought I'd pass this info on.

BTW. This is where I've had my business account for years there. They have good quality paint and match up paint well.
Most of my paint projects are matching paints.
Of course no matter who you are mis-tints will happen.
So get in there and take advantage of it.

Good tip, Greg! I found some mis-matched light yellow at Home Depot (Sequim) for about $5/gallon. Looks just dandy on the coop! Your merchant is smart to make it free, as good PR and if no one takes it, they'd have to pay to dispose of that as "hazardous waste."

And so tonight after all the warnings I am TWI ing. Though I drink so slowly that it is kinda of hard to feel a lot of intoxication.

But I have found a really good south African red wine that I am in love with. Uffda!

I had a great road trip today. TomatoLady was heading to Battle Ground to pick up a trio of black Marans. They are very nice birds, unfortunately one of the hens is in full molt. What a sad looking little bird. She will be beautiful come spring.

I volunteered to ride shotgun today with Vicki. I think I was helpful. We had Vicki's 2 grandchildren with us. It was nice to be able to be watchful of both children. And I will do almost anything not to have to go to the laundry mat and wash the comforters.

I on the other hand should not go to someones home that is liquidating their flock.

I don't need anymore chickens at the moment.

I just had to save the Blue Marans and the Silver Lakenvelder hens from the butcher. So 20 dollars later I have 2 more chickens in the garage brooder pen.

Oh well I will sneak them into the flock, and I don't think DH will notice.

I should have just watched TV for the rest of the night, but instead made 3 more loaves of fruit cake, I also made 3 loaves last night. I am going to make 4 of the loaves drunk ones, and the other 2 sober loaves. After a glass or two. I decided that the bananas needed be cooked up in to Banana Bread. I found a recipe online that uses cream cheese in it. I could have left things alone, but NO! I just had to customize the recipe. It now involves bananas and pineapple and goat cheese. We will just have to see.

And so here I sit twi, and waiting for it to finish cooking. I did get to use some eggs in all of this baking. I still don't will eat it all.

I have 25 minutes until the bread is done.

Darn it I forgot the flax seed.

I love paint boo boo's at the paint departments. I was fortunate enough that I had bought to much trim paint from the last time we painted the house that I was able to do reverse house colors on the coop. The coop is getting better all the time.

I am willing to help how ever I can with the February party. I would love to go camping, but I can't get DH to leave the house on his weekends home. With him traveling for work all the time he only has weekends at home. This is why he lets me have all the critters. This way I am never alone, and I am well supervised by the the puppies and other dogs.

OK I have held you all hostage long enough goodnight.

Well, it is the middle of the night. Since it is the night for meanderings, I will fill a little time here with you all. Moody, the Australian Shepherd that lives with me part-time just had to go out and sit in the rain for a while. I hate drying him off after he has finally had enough. My sister's dogs have learned to dry themselves off. She just leaves a towel on the ground, and they do all of the work. He isn't that bright I guess, because when I lay the towel out on the floor, he just looks at me with the "stupid human" look and waits for his toweling off. He probably isn't that dumb, and knows that this way he also gets a great massage and scratching of just the right places. Hmmmmmm.

I used some exterior mis-mixed paint from home depot to paint my coop also. It is a lovely Kelly Green. Unfortunately my house is Off White with Blue roof and trim. The goal was for extending the life of the OSB, not fashion. So for $5 a can the job was completed. I sure wish I was close enough to take advantage of that deal. Free is a great price, and I want to enclose more of my yard so the chickens have a larger run. OSB is the cheapest way to go, and also has the benefit of blocking the activity of the lady who lives behind me, and her drive thru drug business. Have I said lately how much I wish I lived on a farm?

Moody just returned after 3 weeks with his "dad". I just realized that I have had the flu and the following respiratory muck for a full 3 weeks, since going to my doctor where I am sure I caught it.

:barnie This stuff is really horrible. I believe I may be finally on the mend. If I could just get my voice back and stop coughing and 'dripping' life would be good again. ADVISE: Get your flu shot before the holidays. It would be worth it this year, even if you usually don't get one. If you don't, stock up on Puffs Plus and lots of other Cough syrups, lozenges and other thinks needed for coughing fits.

Not TWI tonight, unless you count cough medicine. Just TWB..... Typing while bored. I hope everyone has a great tomorrow. It is time for Moody's spa treatment.

Here is an idea to check on for free paint. The county I live in has a place where you can take household hazardous waste. They go through all of the stuff that is brought in and then the useable goes in the swap shack and anybody can come in sign for it and take it home free. Between the neighbor and I we have got enough that we painted my house, his house and his 2 story shop. And because we knew what colors we were looking for we were looking for all 3 buildings are the same color (or very close). I have also gotten new tubes of caulking there and a few other things.
So if you are looking for paint, or other chemicals you might want to check if your county has a program like this.

Has this been the longest week ever for anyone else?

Never more than anything wanted to just pack up and go home. I don't need employment, right?

Sorry, bad couple of days, and I haven't had chicken time since Monday.

I think my birds are growing webbed feet. I am very thankful I have plenty of pea gravel in their run. I think I am going to have to get a bit more and some sand too.

This weekend will be a quick drive to Dels for some stall dry or DE if they have any in Puyallup...
