Not when we try to respect each others boundries. We've agreed that adding pets is by mutual agreement. It's how we stay happy together. That and he has my kitchen clean for me before I cook and cleans up afterwards. Truthfully he is the one who takes care of the animals inside and out so he does need to have a say in it.

Well I spoke with hubby last night and we agreed that if the one kitten is male it's a sign we should have it. I let him hang for about 10 seconds with the "I have a dog." But then he said, well if you have a dog, we aren't getting a kitten... I didn't let him hang after that

I have these desirable 18-month old Wyandotte hens. They just molted and are not laying again yet, but I expect they will start again soon. Will probably be fewer eggs this winter until spring and then will pick up again.

Tomatolady and I were working really hard (at almost 1 am) at finding homes for the last 2 or 3 kittens. And we were working Hippie Chickie over pretty good.

We will try to behave ourselves better next time.

I should just not type and talk at 1 am.
I know that for my husband and I. I will bring the critters home and he does the falling in love with them. I do have to give him some credit, he couldn't stand the sight of the Cornish Rex cat that I brought home one time. At least my sister took that cat that night. But over the years he has been really good about what I bring home, including Llamas years ago.

But now do have to take care of all of them when he's away during the week, but he will still race me out in the mornings to check for eggs.

Ok, I caved.I wasn't going to add supplemental light in the coop, but I am kind of eager for my young girls to start laying. I want to see what color the eggs are! Is that selfish? I am pretty sure that they were just going to wait until spring. I went out and got an outdoor plug in timer thing, and hung up a light inside the house and one outside in the run. I also got the LED x-mas lights and strung them up on the front side of the run. I hope it works. I hopefully have it coming on at 5 and going off at 7:30. I probably won't do it for the whole winter, but just enough to get them started.

OMG!!! after being out side all day came and fixed supper and as we sat down to eat. On the news they said 4 Lakewood police were shot and killed in a coffee shop. This is terrible I just can't believe it. This makes me so angry that some scub bag could do this. This also makes me hurt very bad for the families, the department and the community.
I pray that they will catch the person who did this soon.
I hope that none these fallen officers were family members of the BYC family.
My thoughts and prayers go out to all who are touched by this terrible act.
God bless Rob

so you gave in huh? well its all about eggs isn't it??? I did the same, but say I will unplug it in January. We'll see. Today was my worse day for eggs. only 4 out of 8. One of my leghorns sat in the box for over an hour. but NO egg. Friday and Saturday I got an egg with no shell. Saturday I caught two of my girls eating it..

But ya have to see the wopper that my golden sexlink laid. I'm saving it for the party in Feb. LOL hope its not fake. it has wrinkles in it it is so big.

3 out of 12 today. 2 Brown, 1 green. It seems to be averaging 3 a day between the 4 hens. I am very proud. I told my brown hen (dark RIR) that I wasn't going to tell her her name until she started laying. Really, I decided when I named the Production Red Francie, I just had to have a Midge to round out the Barbie friends. I don't think they have Midge anymore, do they all you moms and grandmoms of girls. Whatever happened to Midge?

Scot and Shannon (ds & dil) have left for Issaquah. It was great to see them this weekend.

Heard about the tragedy in Lakewood. Makes me so sad, and so mad, and so afraid for the future possibilities. I hate the news, but I think it is important to know when something like this happens involving the police. What a risk they take for us, and many of us just bad mouth them and are oblivious to the personal stress the job can involve. Then something like this happens, and it all is so much clearer. I totally agree with you Rob. Bless them all and keep them safe.
