The white rocks were laying just before it froze so they are just starting again. I think they were born in April. For some reason or another I never named them. So you can name them when you get to know them.

These 2 were a late July/early August hatch, so you're looking at about 20 weeks this week.

To be honest, I haven't even bothered to look at my nest boxes. My girls may have laid already, my White Rocks face and wattles have been bright red for weeks. . I'm going to be

if she has, lol.

The lack of light hasn't affected the ducks at all. I'm getting 10 a week religiously, and sometimes 12 out of 3 hens. I don't know if it's just the Khakis laying, or if the runner is laying too, and they're all taking turns.

My wife had to finally hide the cookies

and she didn't even make them ! they were a gift from someone I give eggs to.
Hey if you wanted to make a trade (package deal) You would have to take my 24 yr. old and her TWO sugar gliders. and the chickens would have to be Laying Hens NOT roosters. Change your mind???

I saw a few White leghorns on craigslist. I WANT one!!! But I need to get more then one chicken I think, The flock won't like her

The Delaware does look nice. That might be the best. I read it can take the Heat, but what about our cold?????

My wife says if I get another CHICKEN she will leave. anybody know where I can get another chicken BEFORE Christmas??????????????????????? The way I look at it the chicken is ALOT CHEAPER to keep and NEVER wants to go to the Mall

NOBODY have coffee with KIM until we hear from SUBURBANCHICKCHICK. the last we heard from Suburbanchick was FIVE days ago when she had coffee with Kim

and Kimmy seemed like such a nice lady

I don't think it was THAT funny! I though she responded a day or so after we had coffee. If not, then she PM'd me. I will have to look. You guys are a hoot!

So out of curiosity I checked my nest boxes.

I'm suspecting my non-descript red hen is the culprit, based on the feather I found stuck to said eggs. I'm so brilliant that I amaze myself.

I have them next to one of my duck eggs for comparison.

Whew!! Finally freed from the duck pond Kim threw me into. Wait, isn't this the second time she has thrown someone into a duck pond? Didn't she make Nyrial splash around in one in lighting storm? Peeps, I think we have an MO here. Clearly some fowl play!

Sorry all, been very busy and suspiciously tired/ill. I fell asleep before 8pm last night and did not wake up until 8am this morning. I feel grrrrrrrreat! Had to squeeze in credits before the end of the year or face huge fines, cover for everyone at work, shop, wrap, clean, cook, etc. Plus, I think at least once a month I need a day of sleep. Sleep is one of my favorite hobbies!!

And, now, off to wrap some more. I am determined not to be up at some horrible hour on Christmas Eve this year.

Okay, so probably won't work out but worth a try!!

Ron - have not had any meaningful conversation with the folks this week - just logistical planning. Will let you know when I find some stuff out...... and soo sorry about your chicken little.

Weaveagarden - the rooster pic is lovely. Thank you for pointing it out. I rarely go the home page and likely would have missed it.

Code guy has not called since I told him that my chickens are household pets.

And yes - Kim is a very nice lady!
