I had seen pics of this and wondered my self. So maybe friday when I go into lock down I will put my remaining 5 of 14 in cartons. So far my first ever hatch has not been a real good experience. Trouble with the LG then the turner. Then on first candle I saw that 7 of the 8 silkie eggs were not fertile. on second candle 2 of the other 6 were not going and I still am not sure about one more of them.

Oh no, why........................notice both hands on head with eyes of rage. It's part of that Charlie Brown luck that some of us have. If we didn't have bad luck we wouldn't have any luck at all.
Sorry to hear about that.
See and the incubator that I have has three racks that turn and there is no way to do a lockdown.
Are the eggs that I gave you still good?
Mike

# for sure and 1 ??? So should I go for it on the carton idea. from the pics I have seen they stand in carton just as if in turner. I am thinking just cut top off carton and go for it.
The one I am not sure is of course the dark one.

What a great day. Had to take the farm truck to town to get some steel today so on the way back I spotted a pile of FREE building material !!! Woah BRAKE check quick trip around the block to get back to it. I got several panels made of wafer board nailed on 2x3 studs. Perfect for the brooder door I need to make and for the additional brooder pens in the planning. I got 10 of these panels that are from 2'-4' wide and all are 10 feet long.

Then a quick stop at the flooring store and I got vinyl floor for the new banty coop for $5.
And the weather was great to boot 55* and sunny does it get any better in mid Feb?

Mayhap the one that Royce told me about too. Regardless, the information is being passed on to Jeff from everyone.

My productivity for the day is shot. My turkey returned last night and seems glad to be home, although she's missing a lot of feathers, my guess is a scrape with a predator, her head is in pretty bad shape too. My tom isn't letting her out of his sight. She went missing on Sunday, came home yesterday while I was at work, and ate all the food.
I just found out I'm getting a trip to Vegas for a conference in April

, and I expect everyone to jump up and down and squeal like little girls with me.

Getting ready for my trip to Charleston on Sunday. Shopping Friday night if anyone wants to join me at the mall. I need new pants because mine keep falling down, such an inconvenience I swear!

Does anybody else get upset with gvt officials, especially their merry-go-around phone systems? Sheesh, I feel the need to reach through the phone and choke one. I wonder if any of them realize how frustrating it is to us, the poor citizens.
Anyway, the reason for my short rant is I've been trying and trying to find out if there are restrictions on raising chickens in Thurston Co., specifically in Rochester/Grandmound area.

I have called and called and left numerous phone mail (spit) messages which you are promised that a return call would be made in 2 days (ha). I called animal control, they didn't know and transfered me to another which of course went immediately to phone mail. I've called other departments only to be told they are closed (today) and please call back during normal business hrs. mon thru fri.?????

I can't find anything out on line after a 2 hour search of Thurston Co web and other likely places.

SOOOOOO, does anybody have any info concerning the restrictions on raising chickens in southern Thurston Co????

By the way, went to a local Cold Storage facility and got several cardboard slip sheets and tier seperaters. I'll use these on top the plywood floor on the chick pen. They were used and somewhat torn, but I will cut them down to fit. I figure they will make for easy clean up. Almost every large warehouse uses slip-machines (a form of forklift) and all will have tier seperaters.
