I've been a bit of a lurker here on BYC for a while, so thought I would jump in and introduce myself finally.. We live near Lake Tapps (which is by Sumner/Auburn-ish) and we have a small accidental hobby farm.. love gardening and playing in the dirt, our goaties are my constant help, they are great pruners! lol! Have an assortment of chickens--all bantams--silkies, serama, cochins, an aracauna hen, one WC black polish hen, butterscotch call ducks--with eggs under my silkies from them *crossing fingers*! and an incubator acclimating for more.... heehee!

My son and I will be going to the Stevenson show, it's well worth the drive. It is absolutely beautiful there, and is a very relaxing weekend! I am looking for a very nice SQ Partridge silkie Rooster... and have my eye on Rare Feathers gorgeous MF cochins.. *wink*.. I WILL get some from you! whether it's eggs or what! lol!

hehehe, if I saw some chicks in the store like that, I'd snatch them up quick. I know you have to go through a breeder. I have some pure ameraucanas, though (B/B/S), and can't wait for the bluer eggs. I'm looking forward to crossing them with marans and welsummers next year to make olive eggers also

I have 30 Araucana chicks waiting to reach adulthood this summer. . . I'll be happy to supply BYC members with TRUE Araucanas.

I just hope I get enough pairs of APA recognized colors. . . There are a lot of splashes here, and although they can be shown, they're not APA recognized. I do have black, white, BBR, and duckwing though - Have no clue how many duckwings and BBRs though. . . Looks like 3 so far.

I will of course keep them all, whatever color they are, though.

- Well, I'll sell extra roos. . .

AND THAT IS EGGSACTLY WHY I told DW we couldn't go to PQHF today. I saw on thier sign last week that they were gettin chicks today. We already have nearly 60 birds on the ground and there is talk of hatching more.

At least they are still paying thier way. So far !!!

Well I know they aint much to crow about but I gotta anyway. These are from my little flock of 3 BBR OEGB and 1 Sicilian Buttercup ( I think bantam) over the last 6 days. they have had a few off days due to me woring on thier coop and disturbing them. But we have had 2 perfect days lately.
These are perfect for hard boiled eggs. They are 2 bite eggs!!

GET DUCKS~NOT DRUGS!!!

Jefner,.. I have four young partridge silkie chicks that look great so far. I'm not doing partridge... they are out of a black mihalik roo with brown miscoloration (which is how I ended up with her) and a beautiful black roo from Amy Jo Piehl that also has some brown miscoloration. They have thrown four partridge chicks so far with each other, although otherwise this roo has thrown black on black hens.

Gah! I don't do partridge!! Needless to say, that hen is going to go in with another roo. One chick is older, and I believe it is a hen. It has great toes, good foot feathering, nice body shape but has somewhat light eyes.

The younger chicks look good.

I am planning on bringing the older chick for sale, but unless someone wants the younger ones they are staying home.

I am bringing some birds to show, more for experience and education than to win as my best birds won't be fully filled out until fall. I might also be bringing some geese, I just have to decide how important interrupting their breeding season is to me.

I hope to see you there! I am very much looking forward to meeting people.
