I'm anxious to see them (and still hoping for a blue Silkie roo?)
big_smile.png

Yes,.. I need to send you pics of the blue silkie roo and we need to discuss the details. He's looking great, for his age he looks top notch. I have a black roo I'm holding back, as well as a couple others so I am still planning on letting him go. His body will get broader with age. He's a nice boy.

My buff silkie roo is un-bearded and it seemed he looked a bit scraggly for just about forever, but he's now quite glorious (well for a 'pet' quality kind of a guy). Now he and my black bearded hen both look full and rounded, but he is much more attentive, and stands up quite tall when he's on the alert (or crowing, which he doesn't do a whole lot of). Our family and friends love the Silkies cuz they are soooo dang cute, and my husband wishes I would have started with them because they are so much easier to house than the big hens and ducks. And we love their little eggs sunny-side-up.

I've got Runner ducklings coming this weekend (if all goes well). So that will mean a bit of excitement here. I've got two ducks sitting on 14 eggs, though I'm worried about a few that were laid by our third duck after the first two started sitting and so won't hatch with the rest. When I candled last weekend there are four that are definitely not as far along as the others - I put them all in one nest, but messing with Mother Nature quite often backfires on me. I know they'll sit for a few extra days after the first ducklings hatch, but maybe not long enough. Suppose I should be thinking about a makeshift incubator just in case.

It would be fun to see pics of the roo, but I know it can be hard to get good ones sometimes. If not, I'll just see him at the show. Guess I should PM you at some point soon.

are you getting your bees from beez kneez? we have 3 hives for the last 4 years and love them. made the most awesome candles in the fall. Bees are easier than chicks and smell better : )

Where is Beez kneez. I attended a class at the cattelsmans winter school in stanwood this year and the owner was the speaker. I looked it up online and couldn't find a # I thought he was in snohomish. I wanted to get some houses for mason bees there.

Their webpage is here: http://beezneezapiary.com/

I
also attended the Cattleman's winter school this year

Unfortunately I didn't take the bee course.

katgolightly!!!

I live near you just north of Duvall over the county line. I was looking at your website. Please let me know if you do start sellling processed chickens, we have been looking for someone locally who sells them. Are you considering processing for others as well? My husband isn't interested in processing at all, and I don't think I could do it myself.

FYI:

My court date is April 20th everybody at 9:55. I hope to be back on here and hope that some of the old bunch joins me here too to talk and joke and get our daily messages back up to the 3+++ pages it once was.

I just emptied all of my messages in my inbox so that I can communicate with SuburbanChickChick about my case. I hope to hear from some of you too.

Also, I have lost all addresses and telephone numbers because I completely forgot that was the only place I had those things stored....... Bright sometimes, I know.

Still no perfect day. averaging 9 of 12 lately. All a nice Green, Blue or Brown......... No white eggs so far...LOL

Oh, and Ron, I can tell who laid which egg, I bet your white egg layers are hard to tell apart.... Huh?

Whaat? So I'd LOVE some Cayuga ducks, and what happens? Someone in Centralia has a female for sale. Well, I'd like more than just a female. . . But now the ads for drakes for sale are gone. sigh.
hmm.png

Plus, Centralia is really far away for just one Cayuga.

Are there seriously no people on here who have Cayugas? Come'on, they are the coolest ducks of all - They lay BLACK eggs!!

Man, I would love Cayugas, big, meaty birds, not thin at all.
I also wanted to ask Illia, if she has heard of all the missing dogs in Forks, I saw one missing dog ad after another in Forks on Craigslist (farm and garden) one found her dog 40 miles away (animal was chipped I guess) and the dog had been beaten to death in a very nasty and cruel way.
They posted a reward and are trying to warn everyone out there...one person thought it had something to do with the Twilight biz, but it seems there is a really sick person out there.
One dog went missing from a guy's vechicle, truck I presume, and alot go missing from locked backyards that never roam...while the owners are at work...it is scarey !
I also have purebred California meat rabbits here, anyone interested.

Not heard of all that. . . Then again I don't get around much.

I'm sure glad none of ours have gone missing though. . . But I did once find someone's dog a while back. Apparently it belonged to a guy in Seattle. Cute dog - Ended up that after an hour of taking care of it, one of his dog walkers picked it up and was very greatful. The dog was very happy too!

Yeah, the meat is another nice thing. I've tried Runner duck before (I know, worst to eat!

- I mean seriously, there was enough there to serve a baby
) but it was SO delicious!!

Weaveagarden
Hey, glad to see ya back
frow.gif
well are you ready to take on the city of Hoquiam??: So your still waiting for a perfect day huh??? I've had so many of them I have lost count
tongue2.gif
And when I come up short it is usually one of my brown layers that slacks off
rant.gif
. I don't have any trouble telling which WHITE egg came from which girl. They are so smart. the eggs come out with their initals on them
gig.gif
. My California white is my best layer but she lays a medium size egg. my oldest White leghorn lays the biggest egg in my Flock, and the two newest leghorns lay the same size one (large)

Hi Ron and Weaveagarden!

Hey, anyone out there want some eggs hatched by a broody? No garantees, but my Marans is broody again and I am jut going to wait it out this time, and not push her off the nest. I think it made her stressed last time. So if someone close to Woodinville wants to try to hatch any I could put them under her and see what happens. Just thought I would throw that out there for anyone interested.

Hey kim
Do you want her to hatch some??? I would be willing to throw a couple White eggs (don't tell weave) and a couple brown if ya want. BUT I DON'T want any chicks if they hatch:barnie I'm still making payments on my Vet bill
