Hmm. . . I have 5 total pure Bev Davis black coppers right now, all 3 weeks old tomorrow. . . Two are definite cockerels, three are hopefully all pullets. Of the two cockerels, one has a nice tall comb, but small points. The other has tail, well defined points. The problem with the first is that one of his eyes is, I don't know, misplaced? It's like his eyeball is actually further back then his eyesocket in the skin - It seems half his eyeball is covered by skin. Now his eye on the right side of this face is normal. . .

Could this be inflammation? His eye pecked at chickhood? - Or a deformity? PLEASE let it not be a deformity.

Those of you who I had made deals with for stuff that I was going to pick up at the party:

I hear that you didn't believe the Chicken Rustler when he said that he would get all my stuff and have it at a common location for me. That is so funny. It didn't even dawn on me that it might seem like a joke when he told you that he was supposed to get my "trades" and I would get them from him. LOL... Too funny!

So now I need to find out if any of it is available. Especially Mike. I could really use that netting. Do you still have it for me?

I guess I should ask if Eagle, and justbugged are still on here ever. Also, Kim.... I owe you coffee and would like to talk to you about the mealworms again.

One of my girlfriends had a chicken last year that had a funny eye kind of like the eyelid and that chick ended up having a crossed beak too. But Ive never seen any other one like that so just thought Id let you know on this one I dont know what she did with it dont even remember if it was a Marans sorry to say. I hope yours is ok..

No, they won't shrink-wrap cause they're under a momma hen. That's one of the many bonuses of having a momma hen do all the work

I actually saw her get defensive of her babies this morning. The dog was next to me while I was candling and got close, sniffing, not doing any harm but she didn't know that. Anyway, she puffed up and even took a swipe at the dog. I'd always wondered if she'd do that or not. She never has even looked at me in a mean way. She trusts me completely. I just love my momma Gilly

At what point in time do chicks usually poke through the air cells ?
Day 15 or 16 ?
Or do they poke through just before they pip, like day 20 or 21 ?
How much you all wanna bet we are all blistered, sore and have our backs out from over working this weekend ?
I have so much to do, at least 2 weeks of work to do in 3 days!
Get your gloves and hoes ready !
