Update or lack of

well today is 21 (3 weeks) from the day i started adding eggs under the brahma Pidgin and when i checked on her this morning i tilted her up to look at the eggs but none have hatched or pipped.....

if nothing happens by thursday i will consider both hatches a failure....

those 8 bantm eggs were moved under the boody coshin.... but i think they died. none of the eggs are giving off an obvious smell yet....

i will let you know if anything changes. or come thursday the lack of changes...

btw all eggs are fertile.

just the other day my bf and i watched the 2 milli flur roos double team a large hen.... it stood up and one summersulted over the hens head, while the other roo grabbed the hens feathers on the back of the head and hopped on.....

roflmbo over the rooster tag team!

they do it all the time especially to the to creme milli fleurs i got free for them.... i kinda feel bad for those hens but only one of them lay... i forgot to ask how old these 5 freebies were before i took them some are 06 07 and 08 hatches...... so the fact i have 3/5 of them laying is good but none of us wants to eat their eggs unless scrambled because it looks pathetic fried.....

the sad part it that i have a 10+ pound buff columbian brahma roo and if the large hens are not cooperating for the little roos he pecks the hens head to make them submit!

i must have the weirdest flock of chickens on earth. here i read all the sites and book to prepare myself with raising chickens and none of my chickens follow what the books say. the roosters never fight. not even when i introduced them.

4 H paperwork has to be in by June 1 if you want to show in 4H at the fair. Anyone can show in Open though. You may want to pick up paperwork though soon if you do want to do 4H.

I don't know if I am totally ready to dive all the way in. I know nothing about it and want to kinda see how you all do it. Plus my babies are only 3 weeks old. We are handling them everyday so maybe we eventually can show. My blacks are from a Holderread strand so they may be my best bet.

OK. Well, I'll post when the next meeting is, anyway. You may want to at least enter the Puyallup Fair Open Show.

Well my hatch for friday was pretty much a bust. Had 19 eggs in on lockdown and only two hatched!

Does anyone have any day old chicks? I really need a couple to keep them company!!! Would love love love some marans of any type. We had half the bator full of marans and would love a few more. Also would love, true Ameraucana, cochins, but whatever you have. If you have day olds, or close to it and need to pass a few on to a good home, PLEASE pm me!!! Thanks!!!

Someone mentioned a Farm & Feed store that had a coccidiosis outbreak a few days ago. Can someone pm me with the store? If no one here has any day olds, I don't want to go to the sickly store tomorrow.

I have another set of eggs due to hatch Friday, but am down to 4 eggs left, and I really only think two of them are viable. Will check again on lockdown Tuesday night.

Still no ducklings either!!!

Anyone with Muscovies have advice for me on them? I thought hatch day was last Monday, May 3rd. I counted 35 days from when she started sitting. She is still sitting, and won't let us near them. We have not candled. Last year the folks we got this pair from, had 2 succesfull hatches, with 100% fertility. How long do we wait????

Ok. my hatch might not be over after-all!!! After tucking the girls in bed, I decided to candle. 2 of my maran eggs you could see the head in the air sac moving around and actually hear it peeping! The first LF cochin egg I picked up, the same thing! At that point I locked it back down. Please send hatching thoughts for overnight! Today was day 23, but we did have one hatch this late afternoon, so I think there is still a bit of hope left!!!!
