I swear all I could think about when I read this line was "She put de lime in de coconut, she drank 'em bot' up".....lol. Now I'm going to have that song stuck in my head for days!

Me too Way to go. And this is after a day of sending 14 birds to freezer camp with DH's help.

PS Not my favorite thing to do.

Just a tiny bit of water on the sponge, do not open the incubator to wet the sponge

I second this. Although I will open the bator to wet the sponge up until day 18. Not after though. Remember, the heat will dry out the air in the incubator. So if you started with the humidity inside close to the same that is outside, the heat inside will dry it out. Add a bit of water to the sponge every day until day 18. Then add more wet sponges if needed and fill the water troughs at the bottom on day 18 and wet the sponges daily with tube or turkey baster (that's what I use, I place the sponges beneath the larger hole in the roof, and then just drop water down the hole using turkey baster!). Use warm/hot water on those last days too, as cold water will drop the temp. Good luck!

And anyway, why did you put de lime in da dog house ?
DE is enough, and lime against SKIN for extended periods can cause caustic burns.
Hope you are OK.

Me too, a aquarium tub in a hole in the roof, leads down to the sponge and I can add water by turkey baster, funny that the bator is full of turkey eggs !

I do not open the bator except on day 18.
Then eggs get removed in an egg carton covered by damp paper towel...candled, smelled, the turner removed, and the good eggs laid out on the flat bottom of the bator, lid replaced, and that is that.
Fast, so not shrink wrap !!
We are all learning everyday !

Seen on a truck bumper yesterday :
Kinky is using the feather
Perverted is using the whole chicken !!

Spring Creek--was actually a 'commune' back in the day.. lol! There was another one up near Tunk Mt too.. didn't live on it, but played with all the kids there. we all had hossies and rode like hoodlums all over the place... The kids like to go to the barter faire too, but we leave at dusk lol! That's my favorite time of year over there--crisp clear days, kinda warmish but kinda not. I do like to visit my dad too, in the summer, cuz he isn't too far from a river so we spend most of the day on it..

(he lives in the Methow Valley, not to far out of Carlton--which is were I grew up after we moved from the Tonasket area....

Ok I am just catching up since friday so I'm sure lots to read but... coming form a groomer, Newfie not low maintenance on the grooming part lol. They would make great watch dogs though. I have a brother and sister that come in every couple months and it is always a chore to get them done, and that is even with their daddy taking great care of them!
