I thought maybe my leghorn and my RIR (that lays about once a week) might have worms. But I check the poop almost every day. and I don't see any. Three of my girls are missing lots of feathers around their vent and the under side, maybe they are molting??????. So I'm getting 5 or 6 eggs out of eight. every day. Got only THREE on Wed.

Happy !

2nd day and "Julia" is still doing well

I'll need to get her and momma in a private nest soon, though, so they'll be ok and without any interference from the rest of the flock. That baby is going to get hungry/thirst and want to explore soon

yes they need to be seperated or the others will steal her food, treats, etc and maybe harm the baby again !

I would like to go to the Evergreen State Fair. I don't I have been. It must be because I am a King County Native, and they don't like to let me leave. Thst is almost as good as the theory that If I was at all the Mariners Game that they could win the World Series. I can't remember a game that I have been to that they haven't won. Well that is enough of those theories.

Jess you have a very hansom roo.

I am still only getting about 8 to 10 eggs a day. I have at least 19 birds that could lay. I know that everybody is just about a year old. So I am going to have to start separating the girl if for no other reason that to see who is laying, and what kind of egg that they are laying. Uf Da!

Definently go to the Evergreen Fair if you can! It's before the Puyallup Fair. A bit smaller. We go every year since the girls show their chickens for 4-H. 4-H poultry is there the first 5 days Aug 26-Aug 30, and open class is from Aug 31 - Sept 3rd.

We have a wheel chair we got at a 2nd hand store DH has painted camo and decorated with Dale Jr photos, added a rack on the back for the small ice chest and shopping stuff...we use it when we do a big event where there is alot of walking.
He decided to fly off a 2nd story building 7 years ago and landed on his heels, then the butt, then the back of his head.
He was installing the lid on an external handicapped elevator on a building...so has steel plates in his ankles and heels now and walking alot bothers his feet, knees and back.
Get a wheelchair !
Never stop enjoying life.

I have read many times on BYC that you almost never see the parasites in thier poop. And if it gets to that point you have a very serious problem. So I don't rely on visual worm detection. I just have to guess.
