I am in othello, Wa. Anyone from this area? I have had good luck with getting rid of roos on Craigslist- there are alot of hispanic people in the area that eat them. Ive even had one guy come to my house two years in a row and practically beg me to give him any chickens I wanted to get rid of, including any roos.
Im trying to find fertile hatching eggs of different pure breeds in the area, so I wouldnt have to order them from out of state.

hi all! I was curious if anyone wanted to plan a camping trip? I know it was brought up at the beginning of the summer but days are getting longer and we love to camp (motorhome style now

). Or maybe if anyone was into going to dunes.... sand rails or quads....or shoot FISHING!!! come on Chickielady.....?

I wanna keep having fun!!!

OOOOOH I just built a low pressure watering system for my babies!!! Was so upset to come home from my last trip to dead babies due to letting someone water them for me so I went out today spent around $50 took 15 minutes to put it all together and BAM 4 5 gallon buckets on a low pressure drip!

A chickenstock camping trip sounds like fun. I would join for the day. I am not into sleeping on anything, but a really good mattress anymore.

We put in an auto watering system as soon as I got chicks in the run, over a year ago. For me it's the only way to go. this way I don't have to carry water. We just hooked it up to a garden hose. When we poured the slab DH laid the pipe for water before we poured concrete. That is waiting for hook up when he gets around to it. He also laid pipe for power. The part that works is that nothing is very far at my house it's not like the coop and run are up in outer back 40.

Oh come on guys !!!
We are camping !
We have about 100 gallons of water left, so we are hauling water everytime we go to town we stop at a faucet in the grocery parking lot, and fill up as many milk jugs and what not as we can with out getting caught.
It sucks.
We have hundreds of gallon tanks now, but were installed after the rain petered out, and they must be drained before freeze.
DH is busy digging at the well as fast as he can, and took off with our well pump today I assume to make sure it is ready to go.
Pressure tank too....
All critters and us are always bathed, we have enough water but do not waste a drop...grey water system off the shower stall and kitchen all go to a tank that I have a wee pump in and we plug it in and water the garden...which is absolutely plush with greens and the chooks are good to stay out of it, only nibbling around the edges but for Cathy who just rotovated my carrots under....she was spanked and sent off.....

Camping.....if I go camping right now I would go out to a beach on the Hood Canal that has tons of driftwood...I love that place, and have not been there for 10 years...
You all realize that getting into a camp spot as a group is almost impossible right now....I would have you all here but I have ziltch water.
Next year you are all invited !!!!!
I also have no one to care for the farm whilst I am out didling in the dirt...camping.
And we all have thousands of roos now, some to keep and some to not keep.
I also know some Mexicans that love to eat the roos...and they are humane to kill them swiftly.
I know none who rooster fight.
Rooster fighting with these roosters would loose you alot of money...they are tame, and timid even.
I also need to contact Zgoatlady for some soaps cuz I cannot drive up there right now~
Lavender, Fir, Mint.....still have my # ?
Or I will call, this is another very busy woman !
How about we get together for a barbie at a middle person's place, or take turns every year ?
Last one at Nyrials...Snohomish, how about we do one halfway...like Enumclaw or come on down here ?
WE do have beaches but I do not think you can go nuts with quads on the Pacific Beaches...it is awesome out there, and you can camp over for free but watch the high tides and storm surges...I love it out there !

We have every camping thing that was ever invented,, including an on demand hot water shower...our van, big tent, awning, tables, barbies, lanterns,,,all of it !
(Those are bar-be-ques, not Barbie dolls)

Greg so sorry that I did not see this post til now, comcast is driving me mad~~~ But I love the story, and I understand completely this man's need to "spiff" himself up to worship.
In some countries the "spiff" goes way beyon d a suit to make one feel ready to go worship.
I feel if the love is within you, the respect for nature and your enviroment, that is sufficient, your clothes are optional

God has seen us all before !

I have seen one old woman plaster herself with make up and wig...and always wear running clothes...as if she was about to teach an areobics class ! But the make up was thick, and the whole effect was repulsive...and ugly, but that was her way.
She was, at least in her 80s....and she had to be attired in that manner to attend church.
To each, their own, and what goes around, will come around.

I can't cull. I just can't. If I have to, I'll take them to the butcher, but I can't do it myself... I'm hoping I can give them to someone who can use them instead. I think the ameraucana roo, at least, is worth holding out on if I don't get any takers from someone not wanting to eat him, though. These ameraucanas are beautiful and I couldn't cull them or let them be eaten. *sigh*

The fruitcocktail is awesome !!!
I have seen those watering nipples at the Farm store in Chehalis, and DH says he has seen them in Del's Feed.
So maybe you can find them in a feed store near you and not have to pay the shipping ?
