LaSombra Thanks for the offer. But I have a white silkie that I think is a roo. Eventhough it has shown no signs it is just way different from the other one of the same age. I really have my heart set on another OEGB. You would have to have read the story of Woody about a year ago to really understand.

Ron Woody was about a year old. As for the roadside stand..... I have one regular egg customer who pretty much keeps us cleaned out. And this year I don't have much honey to sell since we will be keeping some and gifting some. Next year I should have more since this hive will be stronger and the colony I removed from an old barn should be producing. Plus I will probably be removing another from a friends pump house in the spring.

Yes I had one frame break in the extractor so had to scrape it off and just strain it then couldn't just leave all that honey in the wax so we had to eat it like........candy.

yeah, it took forever for my silkie to show any sign of being a roo. Just a couple weeks ago was when I first noticed anything. Now, it's really obvious, though. They change quick. He's about 6 months old. I'm sorry about Woody, by the way

I told my wife last week that I have no problem with our roosters crowing, right now we have 4 crowers. What I do not like is hearing our 3 dogs barking at nothing.

That is called "excessive bark-build up" at our house.

on that note, will you have any blue "olive-eggers?"

The flock I have are from a Blue Ameraucana, and a Black Copper Marans...some of the babies hatched blue, some have a black head and fade to a black-laced blue body, and some are blue.
They will have a jumbo olive egg...
So, I will have their eggs for sale when they are ready, and hatched chicks.
The leader of this pack is "Duke" remember ?

Duke has 11 girls in his pen...I think there maybe 1 more rooster, but still not sure...but there is no doubt with Duke, he has been twice the size of the hens and so obviously a roo since he was about 3 weeks old.

A very mellow 'watching' type roo as well.
See how he was spying me on the other side of the wire ?

To each their own. So what we are discussing is bringing home; 1 Wheaton roo, 2 Wheaton hens, 1 Blue hen, and 1 black hen. What I want to do is to try showing locally next year.

local honey is the best thing you could ever do for your immunal system, eating some lets your body build up immunities to local pollens that can irritate your sinuses and make your life miserable and it taste good too !!!!!

P.S. All birds are still doing fantastic with no antibiotics only the recommended chlorinated water and they will have it for 14 days total and then regular chlorinated water after that...I got the denagard and tylan injectible in the mail today (KA-CHING)
That can sit on the shelf and hope I never need it.
Other update:
The 4 RIWs seem to be 1 roo and 3 hens !!!

I may have an extra OE roo...a week or so will tell, if you want him Chicken Rustler...he is blue Ameraucana and Black Copper Marans...PM me.
