Ugg... I overslept... Didn't wake up until 9, and now my entire body hurts.

And as funny as my sliding off the horse was the other night... mylower back and hip sure is sore...

Got up to the barn this mornign to turn the Clidesdale/paint mare out... And the brat kicked out, missing me by about a foot... And she has HUGE feet!!! Probably about 7" across, I never realised just HOW big this horses feet were, until I watched a hoof fly by my head... I think today is a good day to hide.

Hope everyones day started better than mine.

I've got a broody right now. Course, she's practically always broody

This is her 4th time since last december that she's been broody... She's a blue orp.

and yeah, supposedly, this is going to be a really bad winter...la nina or whatever... supposed to be worse than the one a couple years ago. Scary. I moved here (from Ohio) to get away from that darned freezing cold winter weather. grrrr

We are planning on moving to Washington. We are hoping for more snow. If anything the mountains will be close for a snow dose.

How is your fishing going?

I think that I have reached the point where I realize that my chickens are TOO spoiled. I took out a couple of slices of their bread. I did not sit on the ground, like hubby does, I sat at the picnic table. Well....evidently I was not handing it out fast enough, as one flew up into my lap and perched on my leg, another jumped up and snagged a full piece of bread and took off. I had to share 1 piece of bread with 10 other hens while 3 others fought over the other piece that was stolen. Crazy birds.

Well, I hope someone remembers to take photos at the bird swap this weekend, I wanna see what I am going to miss out on

All is well here, although it is icky weather and we were rained on while out on the Chehalis today...
Yes it is supposed to be a nasty winter and I heard this morning on some show that scientists are reporting (they say anyway), that we will have record cold weather from November to December...usually it is in the 30-40s then and I guess it will be 10 degrees colder or some such, I missed half the report as usual.
I also heard that since the ocean temps are so warm offshore that they are expecting record precipitation, wether that be in rain or snow I do not know.
I am insulating everything, and stock up on everything I can think of...hauling hay and stuff in the rain and snow is not fun..
************Anyone ready to hatch eggs can still do so, just keep the babies inside, in a barn or garage until they are ready to go out..who knows, it might be a warmish winetr ?

What is "crooked neck " ?
Never heard of it, is it a disease or do they think she just hurt herself ?
I have heard of alot of diseases that have nervous system involvement that cause the neck to twist, is that what the vet said she has ?
That would make me worry...

Poor Stephanie...what hatchery did you get these birds from ?

Fishing today was skunky, then it started raining so we came home, but will probably go back out Wednesday or Thursday.
Rain seems to bring them up the rivers.
And I have told DH that if I ever trip when walking through the OE pen, all 13 of them will jump me and there will be nothing left within minutes all that will be left is my rubber gum boots....they are like pirahnas !

I have to get my saw out and fix it, have it ready for winter.
One day a big storm in North Idaho blew a bunch of my trees down, and trying to get to work I ran into one right across my driveway...better have the saw fixed,,
I got the chain too tight and after I shut it off the chain is stuck tight...no biggee, just another item on the list of to-dos....
Speaking of trees, andyone log ?
I have a bunch of trees Bonneville cut down that are laying here...
