Anyone know of any good running cars for sale for around $1800.00? Cause if I have to deal with one more pushy rude inconsiderate salesmen, I might just lose it!

I know when one needs a vehicle fast it's tempting to go to the dealer to not be running around see a bunch of them all at once but.....................

You are paying their over head cost.
Go to Craigslist.
Do a search with that $1,800 and under owners.

Then once you see a car you like when you call ask them if they have a problem with a mechanic checking it out.
Don't waste your time going if they have any hesitation at all.

Be sure to spend the money to have it checked out.
1,800 is a lot of money.
Better to pay the fee then to be nickle and dimed to death later.

If any of you are looking for a good honest mechanic contact Wes at 425 418 7388
He works out of a barn in Monroe. You aren't payiong HUGE shop over head fees.
He's done my vehicles and other family members going on 4 years now.
He also is a mobile mechanic and will meet you where you buy the car.
He takes it for a test drive.
Then goes over the car right there on the spot.
Definiitly worth the money.

BTW. The barn has chickens!
Tell him Greg sent you.

Robin, here's a good thread about all kinds of crop problems. https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=156772

Hope
your hen is all better soon!

Seems like I've been seeing similar posts a lot recently. Maybe a fall thing? I don't know.
I did just lose my EE Friday to the same symptoms. No real signs, just quieter than normal, and a soft crop. I brought her inside to the hospital and tried everything I could think of and find on BYC. I knew she was going down but thought I'd have a few more days. I planned on taking her in to the vet when I looked a couple hours later she was gone.
Good luck Robin, keep us updated how your Maran does, and what you are doing for her.

Huf!!! I thought I am the crazy chicken lady....

and from time to time I do have chickens in my tiny house !
And seriously Cheryl, if you are stressed what with Cloe's hives, and new horses and buying a car, you do need to vent, everyone does...and I cannot think of a better person to vent on than a rude car salesman.
smack.gif

He didn't listen to you but talked around you and did not want to pay any attention to you but only wanted to look at, and talk to your husband ?
somad.gif

I have hired contractors who flat out look through me...all the while I explain what I want done, they have walked away and looked for "my husband"
somad.gif
which , I was divorced...needless to say I usually fired these guys.
I had a few get out of their trucks and head into the garage looking for Gary after I hired them...as if we were married, but no we are partners on a fix up property, I hate that !
Do I have to have a testical transplant to get a man to pay attention to what I am saying ???
old.gif

I am surprised the saleman ignored you, you being a very tall young woman....
Hope I am not edited for using the 'T' word !!!
duc.gif

OK, enough venting......IT"S MODERN FIREARMS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Gary has to go build a blind, shoulda done it weeks ago...so now he is walking around with his 9mm straped to his leg, with shorts and sandals on, working on the well, cuz that is exactly how the bucks come bounding through our yard, heedless of human, road or dog, chasing does...around here, you just sit in a lawnchair and waite and the bucks run through.
clap.gif

I almost was run over several times last year.
hide.gif

I gave my blue hen warm water with cod liver, a tiny bit of tea tree, and mineral oil...massaged and held upside down to spit up alot more...then put out some softened crumbles...and she RAN over to eat, so she is not as impacted as we thought...?
Anyone else hunting MF ?

Really had this same thing and he died ?
Oh...so sorry!!
Was he hungry and eating/drinking at all ?
You know, I have had it with free ranging...seems every week they get into more trouble or get some sort of illness...now this from eating a rock ? a peach pit ?
Long grass ?
I am tired of the illnesses. (Sigh!)
Did you do the bleach water thing ?
I am wondering now if this is a symptom of collibaciliosis in the crop ?
Man, my imagination goes on and on, she will probably be just fine but I will keep on the research until it gets warmer outside and I can go out.
I have Raymaud's, so I have to keep warm.
I will let you know what happens, and seriously, any one else have these symptoms ???
(O NO NOT AGAIN!!!

Well, No way to know for certain it was the exact same thing. I just noticed last Monday that she was standing in one place for a long time. Not the hunched up, puffed up lethargic chicken thing. She would follow me around the yard with the others and beg for scratch. She was always an erratic chicken, never fit into the flock. So I just kept a close eye on her. Wednesday at 5am I heard the chickens screaming in the coop. I ran out in a panic thinking some predator was getting in. Found her on the bottom of the coop, with 1 wing spread out, the others were on the top floor screaming at her. I think they knew she was sick and were running her off. So I scooped her up and brought her in. I immediately realized that she had clear watery diarrhea and eating/drinking very little. I was quickly able to rule out Mareks, but was thinking possibly vitamin deficiency or poisoning. I went with supportive care to start and tetracycline, just in case. She didn't seem better Wednesday, but OK, Same Thursday. Same Friday Morning, but since she wasn't getting better I was planning on getting her into the avian vet on my days off (Sun,Mon) Friday I get home she ate a little cabbage, drank a little water. I was feeling better seeing her eat. A couple hours later I found her dead. I did check her over no parasites or worms that I could tell, Vent looked good. Absolutely no signs of illness at all, except the behavior and one foot was slightly larger than the other and there were a few raised scales on the larger leg, just a few on the front of the leg. Leukosis did cross my mind, but with no other symptoms. If it was scaley leg mites, it was so early that I thought I'd let the vet look at it.
I'm kind of at a loss, Just one of those things. The good news is that my other 3 do not seem ill at all, so I'm hoping it was not something contagious. I got her as a rescue and was told she was 1 year old, but that is what the rescuer was told. So who knows how old she was. Her egg laying was so erratic I always suspected she was a LOT older.

Russ

BTW- If you google collibaciliosis, your post is the 3rd hit. Lol!

I'm dreading winter though. That sun is deceiving out there. It's cold already and I don't like the cold.

No, didn't go to the show in Stevenson. Too much to do around here and too far away! We just had our first 4-H poultry meeting of the year. DH took over as Poultry Leader for our club this year.

Was hoping to go get the supplies to build on the new coop at the back of the goat barn, but DH is not cooperating.

My Orp & Ameraucan babies are getting too big and need to move outside. But if we don't build the new coop, I have to shuffle everyone around out there (...........we have 5 coops already..........). It would be so much nicer to just move them into the new coop! Holding out for one more weekend. DH has next Friday off so maybe we can get it done then.
