She'll need more than that, she'll need like a feed bag strapped on her butt and make sure there is a vent or it may blow off !!

Poor Cheryl !!!!!!!!

Hello fellow Washingtonians.

If anyone has some old cloth tarps that they are willing to give away please let me know. They don't have to be hole free or even rip free, as long as they are mostly whole pieces rather than little scraps.

I was also told that sign companies give away the canvases that they use for the signs along the side of the road, so if you know someone in that business let me know via private message.

Thanks

Isn't motherhood wonderful ?
Boy could I tell you stories !!
Anyway, this afternoon at 1:30, we had T-storm activity blow through, absolutely raining cows here...wind gusting...buckets and pails blowing across the yard and I was sitting here at the puter ordering something on line and poof !!!
The power went out !
Yikes !!!
I ran outside in the side coop and put 4 towels on the bator...and within 20 minutes the temp was 88 Yikes !
That was when Einstein walks in and says I will go get the power inverter...
So he does, a hooks it in the cigarett lighter, and then brings a really long extension cord in the house...I declined as the bator I have my eggs in right now has a 650 watt element on it, a commercial brooder/hatcher so did not want to harm the car.
But my small styrofoam one has a little weenie element and probably would work so I could have gathered all the eggs in cartons, come inside the barn and put the eggs in the styrobator (little giant ?) and plugged it into the inverter and just run the van until the power came back on...which it did right away after 30 minutes...no humidity spike...YIKES!!!

So I am going to play with the power inverter some more (without eggs in it )

and see how it works.
You can just drive around for hours, or days until you get to a plug

Better than putting the whole mess of eggs in the oven
barnie.gif
...that works for chicks, but probably not for eggs...
One thing I am going to look for is an alarm that goes off if the temperature falls, used in green houses to alert you if it gets too cold...which I would need if the power went off at night I could sleep for hours and not know, that scares me....

Chickielady is only laughing because she is remembering the things that her babies did....as am I at this moment. My daughter had a vomiting episode in the middle of the night. She then decided it would be fun to paint herself and the wall with it. It was disgusting. Puke everywheres.

Also, my dd peed on me. Took the diaper off, held her leg (so she would not roll off) and reached under the changing table for a diaper....suddenly had a wet sensation going down my arm....yep, she peed on me....I had always thought only boys did that. We all have our horror stories and as the moms of older children we can now look back and laugh. But we laugh with you, as you too will look back one day and laugh (even though right now you want to cry). Go to bed....I hope that tomorrow is better.

I stayed huddled up on the couch. So my day did get better. Hopefully DH will understand why I didn't do much today... It took me forever to get rid of the chill from being all wet and muddy. When I changed out of my muddy chlothing, I reached into my left jean pocket and pulled a handfull of mud and sand out.

Thanks for that! It was fairly frightening earlier, but now that I know its ok, it is a bit funny. And I'm still laughing at myself for slipping in the mud, even though I still need to wash my muddy work clothes.

Thanks for putting up with my random rants! Its sucks not having an adult to chat with during the day. Two year olds are fun and all, but not much for conversation. lol

For me being a Mother is a wonderful blessing! Even though trying at times, I wouldn't change Chloe for the world.

Honey let me tell you...

First off, I forgot to write in the puke story how she had done this in the middle of the night and did not cry or make a noise....so she sat in it all night long, until we went in to get her up the next morning.

Also, I did medical transcription for 5 years, out of my home. I had NO ONE over 4' tall to talk to. I was going nuts. I finally got the job out of the house as soon as EVERYONE was in school. I was a basket case.

I bet every mom on here sympathizes, reflects, and admires what it is that you are doing. Rant away (my opinion) I can totally understand. If there is a problem....PM me with your rants. I understand (as do many on here). Besides, we like to have a good laugh, at someone elses' expense. We have been there before.

Hang in there sweety ...... you still have the teenage years to have fun with (that is where I am right now). Some days I want to shoot myself in the foot.

Oh, and we know you love your daughter....but it is nice to talk to an adult occasionally.
