Of the carbon fiber panel:
We built the roof with OSB decking on each side and abit smaller hole in the middle, cut the fiber panel to length..so it was bigger than the hole, enough to over lap the hole by a inch or so on either side and top, the bottom flush with the edge of OSB.
Then put on rolled roofing, and glued the edge around the hole with Henry's asphalt adhesive caulk.
a bead down both sides of the hole and top, and nail down the roofing, and caulk nail heads to prevent rust.
Galvanized roofing tacks..and then cut the panel, to fit( bigger than the hole on top and sides) put a big bead of asphalt adhesive caulk down both sides and top of the hole, and press panel on, then he screwed it down with roofing screws to further secure the panel.
The top must be under an overhang or covered by roofing material or water will eventually run underneath, and if you get this stuff, DH uses a skill saw to cut, and then seal the edges with 100% silicone caulk to plug up the tunnels or they will grow the greenest algae! and not protect as well from the cold.
Back to work~

Thanks for the detailed discription, that will help alot when I finally get to it... Ugg I need a second me... I have WAY to much going on for me alone to handle.

The two foster mares were supposed to be picked up and moved on friday, but alas they are still here. Wich is not good seeing as I only have 1 days worth of feed left for them...

1 month... Yeah right. I have a feeling that these are no longer foster mares, and that I need to figure out what to do with them now... The lady that ran the rescue, has given up on finding these two mares a home. And she refuses to have them put down, also she will not return or answer my phone calls... I'm in a tough spot with these two, and am having to think about making a very tough desicion. Under NO circumstances will I EVER send a horse to an auction. At this point in time a well placed bullet would be better.

I can not winter these mares. I have two personal horses already, and these two mares with their $200 in supplements a month will burry me in debt...

Anyone have any sudjestions that might help me out? What do I do?

All your talk and photos of the beautiful chickens, their variations - what an education I'm getting here before I even have my coop set up! I can see that county codes and limited space are going to be my only saving grace. I do love seeing all of your posts and the care you put into producing gorgeous, quality birds. Mine will be pets (and egg source) only, but I do want "pretty" birds. So, I have an appreciation for all the knowledge you fellow Washingtonians have!

So sorry for you !
I guess the only thing you can do is try to find someone to pasture them where at least they will have grass to eat.
I would move them to a pasture on a big farm or such (ask around) then in writting with witnesses, leave a note taped to her front door, or ask a police officer to do it so it is recorded that you did notify her.
That is all.
I would, of course tell the farmer that the woman is coming to get the horses and give him her number.
What else can you do ?
I hate it when people deliberately take advantage of someone's kindness like this, but at least in a big pasture the horses will have feed...and you will not have to feed them nor be responsible for them.
Go visit them...report to authorities if the owner still has not claimed them...

I'm hoping that will happen with cream legbars Greenfire Farms is importing.

Too bad we can't get hatching eggs from England!!

But you can from other places....
smile.png
Or even adults....through Australia or another country....but just be prepared to spend $2,000 + on it.

If you wait probably three years, after Paul imports those chocolate orpingtons (I'm sure they'll be $800 a pair at first) but then the market will soon be saturated, crash and then just like the coronation sussex--within a few years, you'll be able to buy them dirt cheap.

lau.gif

DH called and we talked a long while, apparently storming bad and flooding alot down there, it's normal though.
Then I told him I was bad last night

and he listened, and I explained...but it is only 3 chickens !
And seriously I am going to sell/cull or give away about 12 birds I have now...so he said, do you want this little incubator Dad has that looks like a space ship ?
big_smile.png
Cute
What kind of bator is it ? He did not know but is bringing it back.
Like a clear bowl upside down on a flat bottom...yellow I think and I said " yes, and I also want the pro cabinet incubator that is 3 foot deep, 4 foot high, and 4 feet wide", DH helped Dad rebuild it will all new thermostats and elements a few years ago...COOL !!!!!!!!!
I have no where to put Dad's big incubators, they are 5 foot tall and 5 foot wide and 3 foot deep and have 10 or 12 drawers for eggs...huge and heavy.
I will not let him throw them away though !!!
But DH never once said anything else about the LB Cochins !!!

Cool, he is the best !

So is it considered extreme hoarding if you have your friends body tucked into the chest freezer, so that you can make sure the nasties are in bloom? I wonder what the legal implications of waiting for the nasties bloom? Now I am curious if they carry nasties on the Dutch Flower Market?
