You can collect rain water. It is only in certain area's where the ground water is in very short supply where it is illegal.

Russ. There is also a site like that in Snohomish. They mix up paint and that is where the problem can come in. I agree it's a great program and a much needed one.
That being said people need to realize if you have people at these sites who don't care you can run into problems due to paint being mixed with other paints.
Also bad paint not thrown away.

I painted a house that they were trying to save money by obtaining their paint there.
Never again will I use my sprayer with that paint where quality control I have no knowledge of compared to store bought paint.
Long story but that was the last job my sprayer ever did.

They aren't cheap. Paint is a lot cheaper.
No more Mr Nice guy I buy the materials.

LOL Which is the way my hubby feels, lol. I think he thinks that if he refuses to build anymore, my chicken numbers will not be able to increase. However, he has not considered that I might just save up and buy myself another coop--for four.

I was also considering a shed and then modifying that into four or more bantam pens with runs....but I'm just not sure yet....

I know!!! The one guy--I sent a $200 deposit to and never heard from him again. My mistake....but that was a lot of $ to lose and get nothing to show for it except embarrassment!

So now I'm looking for someone to make me either a few bantam coops or I'm looking for one large coop (like a wooden shed) that I can convert into many bantam coops...I haven't decided yet....

My other issue is my location...even if something is FREE...I will have to rent a flat bed trailer ($60/day) and then spend the gas and time to go and get it...and I can't unload it by myself...so I'd be BUSTED! LOL

I also tried to save $ by asking those who I inquired about with the coops if I could get them unfinished--no sense in paying someone else to paint it, put up wire or put in windows...or even put roofing on it...but no luck.

By the way CR...I have a trailer frame, used to have wooden top that was double thick with hidey holes in it (pot?) was left here on our place when we bought it and has a spring axle..great for a chicken tractor, we have the metal frame, and metal wheel pants.
It has a yoke and all the trimmings to attach to a vechicle, interested ?
