This is my theory about having kids. DH didn't buy the theory, so I stopped at 2.5 kids.

I still think it would have been fun to have at least 10 rugrats running around, that didn't look like DH and I. (DH and I may have not got the cute thing going on, but we did make some very cute kids.) And by now most of the munchkins would be old enough to help take care of the chickens for me.

1. I will try to get photos of my furry babies up. The one in my avatar is Tonka, he has since passed away, he was one of our first big babies.

2. DH and I are not that cute either, we tell our kids that was why we adopted them instead of having our own....because they are so cute and good looking and better looking then us. They are adopted (we could not conceive).....They are all good looking kids...again, in the avatar is the "baby" DD who is now 9 (not a cute age), but in the photo she is about 3. the 3 I have make me exhausted....there is no way on God's green earth I could keep up with 10. Curious.....you stated 2.5? where is the other half? Oh, and as they get older, they do help in some ways....but it is a struggle to make sure it is done to your specifications. As they get older they grown their own opinion and ideas of importance of things. You do realize as an adult and the parent you pretty much are an idiot. I say this with love to you as right now I know that I, MYSELF, am an idiot according to my two teenage sons. I know someday they will realize that I am smart (probably when they have their own teenagers).

I don't let any of the animals sleep in our room either. I'm allergic to dogs and cats. That was a problem at first for hubby and his cats, but they've gotten used to it. We are going to get rid of indoor animals by attrition. Hubby's cats could be around a long time, but at this point, I think my son's old dog's life will be measured in months rather than years. He pooped ALL over he family room again. Thank heavens I have my own carpet shampooer!

I understand about the bed thing. We finally had to crate 3 out of the 6 dogs so that we could have a place to sleep in the bed. With this last batch of puppies, the cats moved out of the house. I feel kind of guilty about that, but it was the cat’s choice. I have also found that there are fewer accidents in the house with the 3 dogs crated for the night. The first night can be tough, but I found that even though the dogs are in crates in my bedroom, I sleep much better than when I cave in from the guilt of being a mean mommy, and let them all sleep with me. I am so grateful that the big dog has never wanted to sleep with us. He used to climb in bed with us on Saturday mornings, but he hasn't done that for more than a year or more now. I think it has become too hard for him to climb up on the bed. He still sleeps next to the bed under the window, and he gets irked at me for not going to bed with him when he is ready to go. Some nights he just gives up on me and goes to bed anyway. But I know that it makes both him and Teddie cranky when I rattle all night, and they have to go to bed without me.

lol You both make me feel like a horible momma! lol My dogs aren't even allowed in the bedrooms. lol I used to let them sleep in my room, and Wheazy was allowed to sleep with us. Then I had Chloe, and the dogs were evicted from the bedrooms, to the livingroom. It was a hard change for them for the first month or so, especially with the new baby. But they all got over it, and don't even try anymore. lol

I have seven brothers and sisters. I'm not convinced that more is merrier.

It sounds lke your mind is made up. And I agree, that having two youngins together will give the older pups a break... My Dusty got a huge reliefe from Wheazy the weener dog when we brought Kona home. Dusty is 11, Wheazy is 3, and Kona is 2... "I say no more dogs until at least a year AFTER Dusty leaves me. I know I will be devistated when that day arives."

Ok thats it! I gotta see pictures of your pups! Sounds like you have a little pack going over there. lol Happy healthy family pack of dogs.

And by pack I mean 2 or more. lol not the mentality. I prefer keeping two dogs over just one, as I don't always have the time to commit to lots of attention on a daily basis, and keeping two or more together, they play together, eat, sleep, run, ect... They just seem to be happier having a dog family member. lol

Two dogs are definitely better than one. A bored dog is a destructive dog.

Thank you for answering:

I have had up to six dogs before (I have had the email sixdogs2many forever). Anyway regarding your questions: She has no health issues. She is spayed and up to date with shots. We have a very large yard that is fully fenced. I have the financial means to support/feed/care for another dog. They are smaller dogs, so in the house, everyone has their spot and many times this is under my feet and then I yell at everyoine to get out of my way.

I have the love and really don't mind the work. I was thinking that the two pups might actually help one another out as they would play together and then the 1 pup we have now would leave my 3 geriatric dogs alone. Puppy #2 is so cute too. I am actually looking into a job with the vet's office too, I would get discounted food and services - ahhhhhh, yes we will probably take the puppy......I will make the rest of the house help me.

My one and only thing is that she can not sleep on MY bed....I will have to figure out something. DH does not share his half, so my half of the bed has Sabyl (geriatric dog) and Pica (new puppy), ME, Zach (old cat) and occasioinally Rebel (Zach's brother - old cat #2). Is this just not the craziest thing? I may reinstate my kennel rules and stick puppies in crates at night. They are/would be in crates whenever we leave house.

thank you for allowing me to think out loud.

63 days for all dogs gestation.
The x-ray wouldn't show any calium (read: spines) until the second trimester.
Odd if you haven't noticed any 'heat cycles' as well as the abdominal scar.
It is possible she could go through a pseudopregnancy (ie show all the symptoms of pregnancy though is spayed).

sdf

See thats what I am wondering. Could she be having a false pregnancy? Is that evenpossible? Ive seen prior mamma dogs, who have had litters and then been fixed, milk up. But Kona hasn't ever had pups...

It's a mistery to me.

yes

Mine have not said I was an idiot yet...but they are feeling the hard times due to this ""recession"" and they may think I am an idiot but... they sure love it when Grandma shows up with a van full of food~~~

I have shot more than one pack because of this very above situation. mine are fenced with a 5' and 6' chainlink. Also, none of mine are above 10 lbs. Also 3 of them are geriatric. Also...I AM ALFA. I will kick butt if need be. The newest puppy has to have some terrior or something very hard headed....I have made sure of my dominance immediately. She KNOWS that I am boss...no questions asked. I have pinned her to the ground more than once to remind her of me being dominant.

Oh, no, no...grandmas are a different situation. Grandmas are never idiots....Grandmas are the ones to go ask for goodies for to tell the secrets too. Also - they know that grandma is not afraid to kick some butt if she has to. It is your own teenager that usually thinks you don't know what you are talking about.

Nor am I...more is not merrier...especially now days.
My 2 brothers got to go to comunity college...but my sisters and myself, despite being AAAAA++ in school, math, arts and archetecture,,we were pushed aside ........to go to school.
Expected to what ??????? Birth a nathion ???
Geeze I hated being referred to as a "brood mare" and my Dad """dismissing""" me and only speaking to the Male I brought home for Thanksgiving dinner,,,even in this great country....we still have those males...who molest, rape and insult every woman and baby....... and my Da was a great Father...but none the less expected us girls to be supported by men...quite the opposite, and while saddled with a 1 year old and a 3 month old, my """Man""" decided he was Gay....which is really cool BUTTT,,,and to this day Da has decided I am an idiot who ran off a good man ..he will not listen to the tales of the """man """ making out with his boyfriend in the car parked out front...while I sat on the couch in the dark and breast fed my babies, I could see them out there...the windows steamy...

And I am looking for a pup...has to be big for Jack to have companion...can you all tell I worked too hard, have yet to relax and I guess I will zip now~
