most books and folks will tell you 30% humidity and no higher than 40 (for 16-18 days) and at lockdown go to 60-80% humidity.
Once the chicks hatch, and they are all wet and drying off, the humidity will go up.
have a turner ?
Makes life so much easier and you do not have to open the bator door to turn eggs and let the heat/humidity out.
I have no Welsummers...LaSombra have welsummers ?

Yes my neighbor feeds the coons, they allow them to use the area under their deck as a den...

I just want to reach out and give her a big old Smack upside the head. Cause she has young grandchildren who come over ALL the time, and play on that deck.

Wheazy is doing just fine. The Vet said that IF she is prego, then the pup is really good at hiding. She came out yesterday and checked both girls, used a handheld ultrasound on Wheazy, and saw NOTHING!

She also looked at Kona. Kona is supposed to be fixed, but the Vet isn't so sure that the scar is from a spay... Said the placement is wrong for a spay scar... It completely blows my mind. I might have to take Kona in to the actually Vets office and have her checked over...

If it turns out that Kona isn't spayed like we were told, then she will be altered, as I REALLY don't need pups. Oh we were told that we are WRONG on Kona's breed. She isn't a mutt! She is a Newzealand Huntaway...

Wheazy on the other hand... I am not allowed to spay. Unfortunately their is a contract with the breeder, that states that she must have 1 liter before being spayed... I didn't originally buy Wheazy, I took her in as a foster 3 years ago, and she just never left. Now she is a permenant resident in my little home.

I sure do get myself into some odd predicaments don't I?

Might want to let your neighbors know about all the diseases you can catch from coons.

Post pics ?
I think the red browns may be able to be used to shoot for chocolate, but Have to consult Illia our color genuis about that, I am no color genius at all !
My idea was to breed the LB and splash to get LB...
BR X BR = 100% BR
LB X BR = 50% LB & 50% BR (cull BR and breed back LB)
LB X LB Splash = 100% Lemon Blue (cull BR and have to breed back LB chicks?)
LB X LB = 25% BR, 50% LB, 25% LB Splash (BR culled and the rest bred back ?)
LB X LBSplash= 50% LB & 50% LBSplash (breed true)
LBSplash X LBSplash = 100% LBSplash (and would breed true)
I have to do more research on it..but looks too me like to deepen the traits and breed out the BR, I am going to go with
LM x LMSplash...and hatch as many as possible, and cull BR...
Input needed Illia !

I think you mean BR x LB, right?

I just hope you're aware that there's a difference between Lemon Blue and Blue Copper. Lemon Blue requires you to get rid of the mahogany alleles so you actually have the LEMON color, otherwise it's just red and blue. AKA, Blue Copper.

Well, umm, looks like for some reason my hatch is going TERRIBLE.

I've got like 3 W/BW Ameraucana eggs so far that are fertile. . . I don't see anything promising in all 13 of my W/BW Marans eggs or my 7 Olive Egger eggs. It is indeed only day 4, but if I've got obvious signs of fertility in a couple and none in the rest, there's obviously something wrong. I culled two eggs; One was just a dud, the other looked as if something tried happening, then failed. Didn't even get to the veiny point. . .

and all the diseases your dogs, and cats can catch from coons..and about the woman (s) who was mauled and fined on the Eastside not too long ago by feeding over 40 coons a day...or some astronomical amount.

AND TICKS!!!!!!!!!!!! AND LEPTOSPOROSIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We get our animals lepto shots at the advice of our vet as it is so prevalent here amongst rats, mice and racoons...

When we lived on Mercer Island we had a neighbor that not only fed the coon family around, she let them into her house. And she had cats, too. Crazy lady never thought twice about the two species being together. So glad our current neighbors aren't wildlife hoarders.

In other news, I went to the salon this am for a mani/pedi & facial and the darn thing was closed up?! Grrr. I understand businesses close down but this was pre-paid and I was just there 2-3 weeks ago for a cut & color. I was going to turn into a GRUMP (ya know, the correct terminology for a female dog)!!! So I decided to make a day of it. I'm sitting her at Pike Place Market people watching. Then might meet hubby for lunch. Then back home to give a thorough cleaning to the coops & yard. Its a nice crisp sunny day.

yes I meant BR X LB on that line, better go back and edit.
Yes it is different in coloration, and will take some time, that is for sure.
Illia thanks fo input and hope you hatch improves...mine are slowly loosing fertility even though they are still doing the deed...

Not really purple but kind of...it looks great on her.
DH called me as soon as he got into NorCal at a gas station he said there was a 500 pound woman in black spandex, and a feather Boa with Chartruese day glo lime green hair...I had to remind him it was the day after Halloween then...but I want to have a color, blonde all my life and now it is greyish and sister calls it dish water

okay thanks - I think I understand now... I got my numbers confused... so its holding humidity in the right place to add eggs... and then when I remove the turner and lay eggs on wire add more water? so the humidity will go up to 60-80 but it will likely go up on own.

Hey everyone! We are in Burien, just south of Seattle. Trying to Find other locals to share the good and bad times with in regards to chickens! Going through my "bad" time right now with trying to figure out a prolapse situation. Hope to hear from ya or see ya on the site!
