Baily is absolutely adorable. Our male is our favorite baby in the family. He is one of those dogs that you can carry around all the time. I also have to admit that I am attached to the older puppy that now weighs over 11lbs. But the 2 younger puppies have to go. They both have a high prey drive, and I don't dare let them and the hens out at the same time.

I have been rummaging threw my pictures and I can't seem to find a picture where you can see Teddies face. I took some fairly good pictures just a bit of go, but I can't seem to upload them tonight. I have a new to me camera, and I am going to have to break down and read up on downloading the pictures to my computer.

Update on the newbies- out of quarantine and integrating with the 'big-little girls' (LF flock). We have 'big girls' (cats), 'big little girls' (LF flock), & 'little little girls' (bantams). Lol.

They are loving foraging. (don't mind the weathered garden)

Darn! I keep forgetting to add- hubby named them Pebbles (white) & BamBam (golden). Thanks for all the suggestions. I liked TarTar & FishStick, but Mellow & Yellow was a good one- if only it was Mellow & Crazy-Like-A-Fox! Haha!

Baileys been retired since the litter after Lulu. I only used him for breeding for three litters. Third litter I ended up with a blue yorkie... which means both grump and stud had to carry one copy of the gene, since it is recessive and neither parent expressed it... so they both are heterozygous. Blue puppies are not desirable,.. although this puppy turned out fine and only has minor alopecia on the ears, some blue yorkies end up with horribly disfiguring skin conditions and even other fatal abnormalities. The skin problems can be bad enough to cause them to be euthanized before they hit one year. Here is a picture of my all girl litter with the blue puppy.

Having a nice quiet weekend at home!! YEAH!!!! My daughters are having a Harry Potter marathon and I actually get to use the computer for awhile!!

Um, we didn't have rats and mice. Rats, mice, rabbits and red foxes were introduced from Europe.
Though there are many rodents in the americas (actually the only place where they diversified to every niche from water to trees (muskrats and squirrels) none were a pest species as in Europe. Rodents in the Americas were allowed to take several different forms because competition wasn't as high as where rats and mice evolved. That's why we have the largest rodent in the world, the Capybara. Same is true for legumes (beans, peas, acacias, locusts and licorice) but I digress. Though there are field mice and desert rats...they never behaved like house mice and house rats. There is a red fox species in the Americas but it is more closely related to Grey Foxes and not the European Red Fox.
As far as rabbits....well there are only two lagomorph species in the America, Hares and Pikas. Pikas live in South America and Hares are Snowshoe hares and jack rabbits (not true rabbits).

Chihuahuas and dogs like them were spread from Mexico to Peru. Depending on the culture...some were bred for food and some were bred as royal companions. As far as bed warmers.....Mexican Indians did and still do use chihuahuas and mexican hairless (Xoloitzcuintli) as medicinal animals. They believe that putting a dog like this in bed with someone sick will draw the sickness out of the human and into the dog...and skin to skin contact is necessary. I don't know what they did with the dog after this.

I am a Mexican Indian so I know a little of what I speak.

Smells like molasses and wheat germ...fresh and sweet, and he gave me no kick back but I sold 5 dozen eggs, at $3 a dozen and that paid for 3 sacks of feed, this is the first time my feed has equaled or been cheaper (and fresher) than my costs.
I still have operating costs, lights, hatching eggs, medications, vitamins, materials and birds lumber...but finally I can feed my birds on a few days' eggs money COOL!!!!!!!!!!
