I have a photo of our (at that time) 4 pomeranians. It had snowed some 12" the night before. I took all the dogs out into the back yard and had them run around the yard for a few....mind you the oldest was only 5 lbs, the other 3 were closer to 10. After just a short time they were all bogged down with giant snow dingle balls. It was hilarious. The littlest one just glared at me, knowing this was all my fault.

Course, that was back in the day when I didn't have a pasture or free ranging for the chickens. And, I didn't really need it. . . Only had a few lame Sebright crosses. Nasty, ugly, and mostly boys.

I took these pictures this morning.
And my netting is the black plastic bird net...like you toss over the top of fruit trees...we used it on our koi ponds also to prevent Mr Kingfisher and Mr Heron from coming to breakfast, lunch and dinner, and when it snowed, it sank down almost to the water and if it snapped and fell in, well, we would have alot of fish in our nets !
So I knock the snow off...

friday morning me mom and dad are going to go and see the Picaso exhibit. the one and only time it has left paris.... apparently they are renovating the musuem there and seattle is the only one hosting it. so we are saving $ by spending $23 per person to see this art as opposed to flying to Paris to see it later. anyone else should go while the chance is here. i have yet to see my chickens.... been catching up on homework.. but i did see, according to my dad, my "illegitimate chicks" i am so excited to see what they will be. some do not have tails... i do not have a breed with out tails.... and one chick is turning blue!!! according to dad and bf i only had 1 dark chick and the rest were chipmunk.... now i have one that is turning blue... all except the black chick have yellow legs.... some a slightly leg feathered.... i think for the most part the father was the buff brahma.... but no idea on the hens.... but if one was crossed with my blue andulsians... why would it now be turning color rather than hatching blue??? they are cute, and the mom is doing her job and attacking us when we feed and water her... i guess her and her brood will be kept indoors in the picker cabin for a few weeks... at what point can these chicks be placed outside in a chicken tractor??? especially as the weather will be getting colder? i plan to have a heat lamp for them.... the big chickens have heat lamps... though i think the breaker went out last night and they were without heat... need to find the keys to the cabin to go in and rest it.
i will take pics of my 13 (finally got a good count) illegitimate chicks.
and supposedly another one of my seabrights are missing.... that would mean i only have 1 left... not sure if its the hen or the roo.... why would they out of all my chickens and bantms disappear?

I don't know for sure where or not if he gets giant snow dingle balls yet. This will be the first year where his fur is going to be long enough to find out. If it is I will post pictures if I can get them. In the past it has been the lovely rock bombs, that have made having such a lovely darling little puppy so special to have around.
We have thwarted his evil puppy plan this year I hope. We have spent a good part of the summer and fall pouring concrete from door to door in the back of the house. That should help a lot with covering up the gravel that we had put in there a number of years ago. Big Dog seems to be oblivious to the weather and it's causes. It is snowing here again, but it isn't accumulating additional amounts as of yet.
