Don't worry about your nets. . . It takes about 5 inches or more of snow to ruin them. Trust me, I know
A couple years ago we had a huge snowstorm dump over 6 inches on us, and all the netting on our run was completely sagged to the ground. It didn't tear though. Trusty ol' good quality poultry netting.
Course, that was back in the day when I didn't have a pasture or free ranging for the chickens. And, I didn't really need it. . . Only had a few lame Sebright crosses. Nasty, ugly, and mostly boys.
I took these pictures this morning.
And my netting is the black plastic bird net...like you toss over the top of fruit trees...we used it on our koi ponds also to prevent Mr Kingfisher and Mr Heron from coming to breakfast, lunch and dinner, and when it snowed, it sank down almost to the water and if it snapped and fell in, well, we would have alot of fish in our nets !
So I knock the snow off...
