Hi guys! Hope everyone and all our feathered friends stay warm tonite ! My mom flew in last night from Massachusetts. Thankfully she arrived yesterday instead of today! Unfortunately she's had an awful cold for over a week now and the flight killed her ears so I had to take her to the Dr. She now has meds for a sinus infection. On top of that, I started feeling a cold coming on this afternoon which is a total bummer.
Very happy the kids school was cancelled tomorrow. Here's hoping we don't lose power tonight. It's just too cold for that! Anyway goodnight all! Stay warm!

Well I am finally back on. Not that anybody missed me. I was busy taking care of things outside today and then had a apower outage from 8:00 to 9:30 tonight. I hooked up the little generator so we had a light, TV and Sat reciever. We were nice and comfy with the wood stove. Then of course when the power came back I had to go out and put the gen away. Called the DN ( who was at work) to tell her that we still have no cell service so if she needed any thing she would have to call one of us on landline (man I hate havin to climb that pole to answer phone in the cold). Our temp was 25 when the power went out and by the time it came back on it was down to 19.

I hope none of my BYC FAMILY is stuck in that stuff in the Seattle area. I don't want to hurt any feelins but I cant keep from laughing at the SILLY things I see so many people on tv doing. They are just making it a lot worse than it needs to be for themselves and others.
Take care stay warm and IF YOU MUST drive be very careful. Stay home if ya can.

its crazy out there. I just went out to the pasture and 4 Polish were under the snow almost froze to death. I noticed big mole hills like in the snow and for some reason I had thought I had better check it out. We have pens and coops all over and would you think these 4 polish would go for cover? Heck no! I put them in the coop and put light in there. Hope they are ok?? Hope all of you do well and dont have trouble with the snow. Keep safe!

IMnot sure what it is about hte drivers here. I live on a slight hill and most people drive it like it istn snowing. people stopping and sliding past and backing up to make the turn, etc.

ooh man, it took me about 2 hours to get home tonight.. and all roads leading to my house were CLOSED!! I threw a crazed mom fit at the bottom of our main hill, and the officer kindly let me thru... I have STUDS on, and 4 WHEEL DRIVE, and I KNOW how to DRIVE in this! argh, twas a frustrating LOooong drive home. The police man chuckled and said to me, as I was driving by him... 'walll, don't come walking back down this hill 'cause yer stuck up there..' ppppht. said I was an E dub girl and I'd be fine JUST LET ME GET HOME TO MY KID! Boy people were sliding all over though. Western Wa is not prepared for nasty road conditions like this.

I wonder if she did what RedRoosters polish did?

It took me 5 hrs to get home. I tried to maintain my cool (God forgive them, they not what they do...as they are not from your best and most holy city in the world, Chicago) and realize they haven't had the need to invest in all the snow removal equipment and ice is indeed dangerous.
From 4 to 5:20, I waited for the bus. Then the Sounder was running late! Why I don't know, they are on rails. Then I couldn't get up any hill from the Valley to Lake Tapps. Finally got in line and waited...the salt trucks made their pass and gave the all clear.

Then I got home, really enjoyed my kids and watched the John Lennon special on PBS. Sad & Uplifting.

I left work early at 2pm and drove from milton to Eatonville. It was good coming home but within an hour of being home it hit. We now have close to 10 inches and i have been out on and off checking on all the animals and water and stuff. Glad you all got home ok. Gosh the news is something else. I was watching and folks are idiots! Glad I can drive in it but would rather not because of the dip sticks that think they can.

well here i am holding the kitty. he is beyond happy to be inside tonight. the chickies are snug in bed all together on one side of the coop. I finally broke down and left a 100 watt bulb on over night. It's now 22 degrees out side and still snowing. I have a solid 10" of snow in the back yard. The people that are stuck on the freeway in Seattle scare me. With the temps dropping there could be dead people come morning. I hope that they get things moving. I also hope my Son gets home safely tonight, but at least he has a snow plow and sand.
