Everyone made it through the night here, even the darned starlings....

I've picked up all the food so hopefully the little beestards will starve and freeze to death today.

Unfortunately, THEY WON'T. Starlings are rather hardy....over here they have a bounty on their head. I don't remember how much it was, but it was less than a .22 shell, so we use the pellet gun. We don't collect on it though. Nasty birds.​

I'm so glad I have not heard of or seen a Starling out here since we knocked down their main nest years ago. . . Since then, not a peep.

Course, we do have Sparrows and Juncos trying to eat whatever's left of the grains we throw out for the chickens, but they're there regardless. . .​

DD stayed home from her part of school today to help me finish up on our Thanksgiving cleaning and baking. She and I are going to make Thanksgiving Cupcake turkeys. I will post photos....they should be cute.

We made it through the night ok. We only have 4" of snow and it only got down to 6* overnight. It is now 21 so we have a real heat wave going.

I just hope it makes to the predicted 30's today so I can try to get the truck thawed out. It stopped putting out heat on the way home from town yesterday and I suspect that the radiator slushed ( lightly froze

). I left it with the electric blanket plugged in overnight and hopefully that will help to thaw it.

I just hope I don't have to start using the 1 ton since it is 2 wd and dually with no weight in the back.
