Maybe if we did it on the 19th. That is President's Day weekend so I think most people would have a 3 day weekend! That would give us all Sunday and Monday to recoup!!

The canned punpkin pie mix is something like butternut squash anyway, but Ive had squah pie made with yellow crooknecks and who knows what else. It is good regardless of what its actually made out of. Pumpkin pie is my favorite too.

I see you guys using Splenda and other artificial sweetners, you all know the health risks associated with those sweeteners right? And the suggestions that they dont really do what they say? My doctor gave me a paper on artificial sweetners and I stopped using them.
 
I like the idea of door prizes. Was at the feedstore today and I saw some great ideas. Put me down for a couple.

Today is the first day of an 11 day vacation, so let it snow.

I also did a thesis paper before on artificial sweeteners.

A lot of items that are sugar free have the same carbs as the sugared items. So what they look for is "lights" like juice with 1/2 the sugar or ice cream etc

Its the carbs to look at not the real sugar vs fake sugar.

We make jams with 1/2 the sugar and freeze and other things like that.

Won't ruffle my feathers if you have real info on Splenda, but I work as a health care nutritionist/manager and I'm a tough test to pass. I am diabetic as well, and find Truvia barely acceptable. The RDs I work with say Splenda is safe. I won't touch Saccharin or Aspartame. Before I was diagnosed I thought sweeteners were a lot of "who shot john" just a waste of talk, but I really like my sweet coffee in the morning.

Yes the way I was told to do it for DW was to watch carbs. I don't pay as much attention to sugars as I do carbs. Many people also think that FAT makes ya fat but it's really carbs that make ya fat.
