Cheryl - If you could hold them for me and I drop by to pick them up on Friday, that'd be great. . . Although I'd rather not come up to Seattle. We're going by Olympia on Friday, but we're not going up north. So, I'd say coming to Robin's place is much easier than going to Seattle.

However, we can't bring a truck/trailer to your place, Chickielady.

But I do have two BW Am pullets, already laying and fertile.

Thank you

Well, I rushed home from an excessively busy day...made some quick dinnr as DH has no clue to get someting out and start it...and then off to the High schooler's band concert.

So now I am back home. Absolutely exhausted, but had an absolute ball at the vet's office. I will be working at the front desk, paperwork and people. I will walk dogs, feed critters, and do some cleaning in the back. Long term, I will get to help with some procedures and do other fun stuff in the back. I am very excited. Unfortunately, today there were 3 euthanasias...one of which were some friends of mine. I started crying. The vet made the comment what gentleman Kujo always was. He was 16 yo weiner dog. But, there were puppies that came in and kitties that I got to pet. The clinic has 3 clinic kitties and 2 clinic dogs. I was working on the computer on a client's file, and CC or DO would come and sit in my lap. I really enjoyed it.

thank you for asking.

So glad you had a great day at work!

Play at what you do and you will never work another day in your life

I LOVE my job, and I feel pretty blessed to be able to say that. Euthanasias are hard, especially when you know everyone personally. I have been doing this for .. umm... a REALLY long time and I still have tears almost every time. We have been here for 17 years, and we had a some hard times where all of our 'kitten' patients where coming in as oldsters for Their Time. It was very difficult, but I am glad it's US (who they have known for 17 years) that got to hold their hands and paws. <3 Anyway.. look forward to hearing some of your fun clinic stories

Does your hospital do mixed practice or just small animal?

CR-- I agree-- I think you should try to get some little metal work going on.. you do beautiful stuff!! Feed stores? Local small hard ware stores?? the craft shows?? DO IT!

ALSO--
I wanted to thank everyone for the Giant Goat Eating Spool ideas!

lol! I am thinking of making a goat cave--depending on how far apart the bolts are in the middle.. and adding some sort of ramp so they can get up on top too...

UNLESS someone wants it for their next coop??? *hint* lol!!

edited cuz I can't type coherently..

Well then we may have to meet halfway then, so when ?
I cannot remember where pinkchick is, I e-mailed her, her PM box is FULL!!!
I just cannot get with her on Thursday or Saturday...unless we just meet and get birds and keep going...Thursday I go to Monroe via Seattle with a stop with Rainwolf, and Saturday is Elma south of OLY...so let me know...any other time is A OK.
Tomorrow AM the well driller is coming out but he will only be here a few minutes...does Pinkchick work week days ?
Hmmm, how to connect with her during the week or Satuday morning we will be in the South Oly area (she is up that way as I recall) ???
OK I edit to say she is down south, where exactly we are not sure, but maybe I can get with her, someone tell me where she lives !
She must be afraid of being so close to the rustler that she will not post her town !!

So I thought...well, where does she work ?
And maybe we can meet her halfway ?
DH is calling after your tanks again.
They should be here soon !
I will log on later~

Anyone here have a roo try to attack them ?
And does it do any good to give them a wack with a stick or will they just attack again and again ?
I just wondered if they would learn their lesson or continue to attack at evey advantage.
My Cuckoo Marans ro has decided when my back is turned to attack.
He has no spurs, he is only 6 mo old, but if this is going to continu, he will get a wack from a stick or broom or end up in the pot.
I wonder if a time out in a dog crate would help his attitude.
The one I am worried about is MOT.
Mot has shown signs of being defensive and may turn aggressive as soon as puberty hits.
Elvis (the cuckoo marans roo) tried to attack Clarence through the fence yesterday, and bloodied his comb in the process, big dummy.
He is lucky Clarence could not get him, as Clarence has 4" spurs the size of my thumb !
Clarence could puncture him big time.
Clarence is so gentle and sweet (LB Cochin)
Oh no! Lightening!!!
BYE!

Glad you made it though the storm. Does anyone remember the famous Columbus day storm in the 1960s. Winds up to 90 miles an hour. I thought our house was going to blow off its blocks. Cold down here. Chickens just hanging on till it warms up suppose to be in the 70s in to days. 35 right now. About 0 in Wisconsin and that region. I have six rhode island red bantam males I would give you one but it would cost $35. bucks to get it to you. Jim should have a spare male if you wanted one. bob
