You need one of those kiddie harnesses and you can tie her (DD) to a tree
lau.gif
seriously!
You could also maybe get a playpen or alike a dog kennel, put down a piece of plywood or carpet and toys and shut her in there to play where you can see her and she can see you...would that work ?
I used a playpen with mine and then tied a blanket on top cuz my DD would escape lickity split and be in the creek faster than I could grab her.
I used to clothes pin the blanket on top, gave her safety and shade and I could get yardwork done.
Worked great.
I used a harness on DS..he would haul fanny right out into traffic !
Trying to push a stroller with DD and hold DS was a nightmare...so I got a kiddie halter and tied it to the stroller so he could not run off...he was bad about that, most little kids freak if their parents are gone from their sight...not my son, he was in heaven if we were out of sight, he was into eveything and was so hard to catch sometimes without leaving the stroller to run after him...I believe he did it for the attention so his sister would not have the attention...brat!
I saw a couple at a store not too long ago with a toddler on a kiddie harness that looked like he had a stuffed animal cat on his back hugging him, very cute and very smart!
Especially when the stores are crowded and it is so easy to loose a kid in a store right now...

Hay! The same thing happened to me with my son at SouthCenter !
I just saw on the news a few weeks ago a child ran right out in front of a car. bam. done.
I do not care what anyone says, halters on kids are wonderful safety devices.

Yep. When a really dark egg layer gets a thick coating of blume on her egg, it makes the egg turn a beautiful lavender or plum purple coloring. Trouble is, this doesn't happen too often and breeding for it is even harder.

However, I do have some Araucanas who lay a constant layer of blume on their eggs, and when crossing them with the Marans, it will produce some constant blume-layers, with a small percent chance of some single combed offspring. (thus, they'll lay dark brown eggs with a blume; lavender/purple eggs)

Even the Olive Egger eggs with a blume will have a very different coloring.

I have an EE hen that with her blume her eggs look very pink, so I've got her in with the Ameraucanas to try to get chicks that will have that pink blume on blue/green eggs to try to get some purple eggers. She also consistantly has calcium deposits on her eggs, so they have white speckles too!

Apparently some of the ones I just sold have lavender eggs, ask CR...and I went in the nest boxes a few days ago, there were two, very rosy lavender eggs.
Hmmmmmmmmmmmm I thought he was kidding when he said the birds I sold him laid lavender eggs.
I have some laying very pink eggs too.
And the best of all is the light green , GREEN (not avacado) with brown spots all over it.
It is a blue-green instead of yellow green like most OEs, and spotted !
I love it !
The bad part is no laying from the Ams yet, they seem to be very slow growing like the heritage breeds and it is winter..but they talk.
They are the most personalble birds, talking to me and of course I talk back...they are wonderful birds.

Soooo you're not getting any "olive" eggs from your "olive eggers" ?
wink.png

Do you have pics of the pullets and/or parents?

oh yes, I am getting mostly all olive eggs from them, but there is one, apparently 2 that are going into a blue-green with brown spots and 2 that are almost purple.
weird.
I bought the eggs and hatched them.

Yep I know. And thats why I am so baffled. lol I have had my truck gone over many times... Oils clean, radiator is clean, coolant resevour is clean, but always empty
hu.gif
, even if I filled it earlier. If you or your DH has any ideas I would greatly except them. lol I'm sick of my truck, its down right emberassing driving it at times... Because even after it warms up, if I shut it off, it blows white exaust when I start it up again...

Ive been told, "oh it just needs to be ran, its just sat to long." "take it for a long drive on the highway and open it up! Clear out all that carbon." Well I know its not a carbon build up, and the truck hasn't sat for more than 4 days without being started and warmed up.

I need a lavender egg layer real real bad. I would like another blue egg layer also, and maybe an olive egg layer.

I suppose I need to tell on myself. I needed to thin down my flock about 6 weeks ago, and I decided that the three of the Welsummers could go and three of the Salmon Faverolles needed to go. The Wellesley girls weren't laying well and the SFs lay to small of an egg for their size. I also sent a couple of the little banties to the auction

. Well as we were grabbing the birds up that Saturday morning, I managed to grab 2 Wellesley, and my favorite hen Gracie Mae. I even double checked the boxes of hens to make sure that I hadn't grab the wrong birds. I didn't figure it out until later that afternoon. I could still cry. I just loved Gracie, she was just so personable and clearly the head hen.

I even tried calling the Auction to see if they could trace her, so that I could buy her back. They couldn't or wouldn't even try. My Wyandottes are now laying and they have nice large eggs, but they just aren't as much fun as blue eggs. So that is my sad story of what happened to Gracie Mae.
