Welcome,
Our 2 friendliest of girls are: Dark Brahma (hatchery- top hen), Silver Laced Wyandotte (hatchery- #2). All were tortured as chicks so they come running whenever we're out.

Did ya see the pics of the RIR ?? I haven't been able to get pics of the crows as they are not very good posers.
Your RIR banty hens are awesome !
And yes, the OEs do not like to pose.
You will find as they hang out with other older and calmer hens, they will settle down.

Well Ive told my DH that the truck isnt to be ran... At least not until we get it worked on, or decide to sell it. He agreed to pay for the valve cover gaskets, but if that isnt it, then I got to sell it. The truck still runs strong when its running, but I'm not gonna chance it locking up completely. I would rather have it sit and look pretty until I can get it worked on. Its a really nice truck, and the motor only has 57,000 miles on it. Really the only thing I need added to it once its fixed would be the full tow bar. Other than the motor problem, its perfect for me. And this entire situation sucks big time. lol
When we moved out to Enumclaw from Renton, we had a little Datsun pick-up. DH and a few of the guys put the dog house kind of in the bed of the truck and had me drive out here. It is about 30 miles from the house in Renton. Also the dog house was bigger than the pick-up bed. The guys built it for a Mastiff cross, and a Newfoundland. Well that was the last run for that truck. I saw the head gasket blow while I was climbing out of the Green river gorge on Maple Valley HWY. I figured that if the truck was still running that I was going to go as far as could. I made it to this house with it, and I don't think that it ever ran again. It really wasn't worth putting anymore money into it. DH missed that truck for a long time.
We have the tools to do the work, but I doubt that my DH would want to do the work. If he is around he is a great teacher. He is a master mechanic, and specializes in concrete pumps. He is the nations top trouble shooter and trainer for Putzmeister concrete pumps. When the engineers mess things up, DH is the guy that has to fix it and make it work.
I may need a concrete pump in the spring to do our home foundation !
And Cheryl:: It is not the valve cover gaskets, it is the heads...head gaskets , and DH says it sounds exactly like intake manifold gaskets are shot.
If they are, you can bet your booty the head gaskets are next in line.

Welcome to the forum, and tell your family that you do not need to have a rooster for hens to lay eggs.
There, the relatives will be safe from your chicken coop.
Ameraucanas are indeed a wonderful docile chicken, and the more time you spend with them, the more they will love you back.

It happens, but the eggs I get with the lavender tint are coming from Madelynnbelle Blue Ameraucana eggs/pullets, and she has moved and will not return her e-mail that I sent.
I paid for purebred Blue Am eggs , and they were huge and sky blue!
But evidently there was a BCM in the wood pile.
Deb's son actually packed and mailed the eggs to me as she was in Hawaii at the time when I ordered, so I wonder if there wasn't something off going on...none the less, several do lay an egg every so often that has such a rosy blume as to look lavender.
No biggee though...
TA DA !!!!!!!!!!! The winner is !!!
CR is building (hopefully) the bottle TREE, not the bottles !
The bottles come from the family that BUYS the tree, as in different family celebrations and such, wash the label off and hang YOUR empty bottle on the tree you buy from CR>>>OK?
You guys have it that he needs to have bottles, and are gonna turn him into a wino!
what he needs is the iron, or fence post and steel tubing...to make the TREE...not the bottles.
And T...I have your duck hat and am looking up your address...when are you going to "the beach ?" maybe we can trade ?
