How do you dispose of dead chickens?

I don't have any, but I'm sure it will happen someday. You can't dig much deeper than about a foot without hitting a boulder too large to find the edges of. Do you burn them? If so, how?

bag it, tie it off, and dump in a garbage can.
I haul my trash to the dump.
But if you don't, then maybe dig a deep hole so your dogs and coyotes won't dig it up.
If you have sick birds you can inceinerate in a burn barrel...get it going good and dump the bird in and run, it doesn't smell good for a while...

Holy Cow, are you home for X-mas but got strept throat or something ?
Hope you feel better !

Had my tonsils taken out on the 21st.... now i have 2 big holes in the back of my throat. scabs feel weird and throat feels slimy too. but also that gag reflex thingy that hangs down is swollen and numb, feels weird having it hit my tongue all the time. parents said my surgery took 27 minutes. yeah i am home and cuddled on the couch with the dogs.
I have never had strep, never ever. had mono 2 years ago though, but this past year kept getting tonsilitis alot. the Dr. told my parents that my tonsils were "pitted, scarred and infected/rotten inside"
it takes about 2 weeks for inital recovery from surgery, then scabs start falling off and there is slight bleeding..... i will get to ski again in january sometime, hopefully before i head back to WSU.

The gag reflux thingy hanging down is called a Uvula...and usually tonsils are resorped into the body after serving their usefulness aiding in the capture of germs during childhood,as part of the lymphatic system when the immunal system is developing.
By adulthood they usually wether away.
Yah, you don't need them, just have some ice cream

By the 3rd day is peak swelling and discomfort, and after that you will feel really much better!

Kinda getting the feeling that no one in Washington state rents out incubator space...

Well, since I've gotten no replies, I'm gonna stop checking on here, so if someone is kind enough to rent a little space, please drop me a PM. This would be for in a few months and standard sized fowl in the south sound (Oly) area.

Thanks! Merry Christmas/Happy Solstice all.

But you know you could always build a new coop from scraps like most of us do.
The bad part is the damage done to your house ???

I am depressed

DH is gone and still has not called. It is so weird how brave I am when I have something to protect, I will fight Lions barehanded...but when left alone the creaks and groans of the house, odd bumps in the night, and things we never hear when someone else's chatter fills the room, suddenly it is so still and you can even hear your own heartbeat...and the whole place is cold, even though I know it is 72 in here....do you get this everytime DH leaves on a trip JB ?
AS long as you have the big puppy and your children around...there is noise and warmth.
But my Sam is gone, and times like this I miss her so much.
That pup dog Jack has no chance of ever getting into my heart. And he stinks and eats rocks and rubs his butt on my rugs.
Typical male, fixed or not. DH thinks this is hilarious.

But he does not have to clean rugs.
Jack is DH's dog for sure.
And I miss Samantha.

Man that's all I needed to see when DH is gone and it is the Holidays...
