well looks like the rain has let up a bit so I better get out and play in the mud. got dug donw as deep as I can with tractor and had to push it out with the bucket so now the rest will have to be done with a mexican back hoe !!!!

I am hanging in there, what else can I do.
Update on the house...DH has found the OLD meter base is so rotted out that lugs are not contacting well, so the breakers get warm and click off shuting the power to the entire house. There was no pot lights...renters are being good.
DH has bought a new meter base and breaker mains...and now tomorrow he has to apply for a building permit, build the new meter base next to the old one, call PG&E, have them climb the pole and cut the power, and DH has to cut the solar field so he does not elctrocute himself from that direction...then switch out the meter bases, then PG&E refits the forward-backwards solar grid tie meter to the new meter base, and the building inspector is called. At this point maybe a day has gone by....so now the building ispector signs off on the permit, and PG&E is called back, and that can be a day or tow, when they came back and see the thing is good to go, they climb the pole and reattach the lead to the pole...and DH can go in the garage and turn the solar field back on, and hopefully all will be well, could take 3 or 4 days...

There is an old guy in Lake County CA where our place is that builds and sells all kinds..and birdhouses and all sorts of stuff, his latest is bat houses.
I saw he had a bat house on a web site not too long ago, I will look for it...

CL plan on it taking a week and then if it gets done sooner all will be good. Most likely inspector will find some S T U PID thing to ding ya on. Been there done that!!!!

Hubby wants his own space really bad. Keeps dreaming of a big barn with a shop but that would combine my space with his since the rest of the barn would be animals! So maybe we should plan on just a shop somewhere. He and the neighbor can hide out. Even when he comes over here to visit and have a beer the wife is not far behind to check on him or you can hear her calling him. We just shake our heads. So your DH has a pole barn? all enclosed? We have this old pot bellied stove in the garage that would be perfect for a shop.

It is the power co that has the one guy working around the entire Lake, that is not really heavily populated but it is 110 miles around that lake.
So I went out to grab something out of the new freezer, it is so supper efficient it uses power like a flourescent lamp.
That and digging all the stuff out of the tint freezer and moving it to the new bigger one was like a shopping spree !

Ahi Tuna and salmon...chicken and stuff I forgot I had, all in there under a year and has zero freezer burn. This new freezers do not get so cold as to suck the moisture out of food like the old ones did.
So, I got marinated Ahi tuna for myself...yum!

I was going to plant but got stuck in yet another hail storm walking up the hill...this time like very large peas, almost marbles...now the sun comes out to tease me outside again....

not to double post, but yes the DH built a pole barn that is 12 X 24, a shed roof, and has clear corrugated panels around the top of the high wall for light, he loves his space, and I love it when he goes to work

He has all his stuff in there, and sneaks cigarettes,,,

but what the heck...as long as he has a place, and that gives me time by myself. It keeps us sane. And DH has a place to tear stuff apart and build stuff and repair and invent. He has all his glues and screws and bolts organized, and has a blast in there.
WE also have a chemical toilet in there (like in an RV) that has the blue water in it...and he can go down there with his soduko puzzle book, a cup of coffee, usually a cigarette, and start his fire while he does the soduko and smokes and takes care of his morning bathroom biz...if ya know what I mean.

What does this neighbor woman think is happening ? Does she think he may be having a little fun ?
I would not last very long around here before I would speak my mind and ask her what is her ensecure problem ?
And I would ask her to not come over or scream at her husband anymore around me, it is sickening.
Gosh, let the guy have some fun !

Geeze it is totally white everywhere...inches thick with hail...I bet Illia is so flooded, poor thing !
We have the clay too, but we are on a hill...so it drains off fast but is still so slippery like snot with ice on it...
Weavagarden told me the best thing to do is haul off all the straw I put in my runs, and put 5-6" of sand/small gravel in all my runs.
This is the plan this summer right now the straw is wet, and heavier than all get out...and almost loose the wheelbarrow going down the hill...nah, I will add fresh straw when needed until it dries out here.
Sounds like Illia needs to do drainage ditches and the sand thing too...
