Illia how was the goose killed ?
It sounds like she had alot of clots as if maybe she was shot or otherwise had bleeding in the lung in question ?
That is my guess.

Same way I do any other poultry - A chop to the neck, and off goes the head.

It didn't look like that though. If the blood hit the lungs, the goose would have been choking and coughing it out, which it didn't. Airway was clean, mouth was clean. The blackness looked like a disease or growth or something. It was slightly raised from the rest of the tissue and only in a certain section of the lung. The left lung was fine.

This is the part I have little knowledge in. ( diseases, especially respiratory problems )

Ditto, coming from North Idaho....but it is tru that alot of people that move up here from warmer climes cannot drive in the snow/ice.

I
got the last one, with the name of our farm, and under that "Rare & Heritage Heirloom Poultry"
and then:
Rhode Island White
Buckeyes
Black Javas
hatching eggs, stated pullets, hens
Eating and hatching eggs"
and our 2 addresses...and phone number, it looks great, and if you order before Thursday there is a New Years discount....you can choose the paper or I chose the indistructible card, I assume it is either rice paper or plastic...It sure looks better when I go to the feed stores with babies to sell or eggs to sell at various places.
There is many many pages of designs with chickens, some marans and alot with white silkies, cubalayas, etc.
Check it out if you are looking for a biz card~~

Did it look like a mould or firm like a cancer ?
I have little idea other than maybe a web site with photos can help like the WSU or I think Nebraska has a good one.
Sorry, I am not so good a help either !

Born and raised in Western WA

I seem to be able to navigate just fine in the snow.

A couple of years ago, I had a meeting up in Auburn. It had snowed 2 - 3 inches the afternoon before. I just got up early and drove up to the meeting. Along about Federal Way, I stared seeing cars that were abandon, they were everywhere, all along I-5, at each off ramp, in the middle of nowhere. I was in down in the Auburn valley, and there were cars abandon on flat, straight roads. There was only 2 - 3 inches of snow.

I still cannot believe the lack of ability to navigate.

Some of us can get around just fine, however there is a large number of the population that has absolutely no business even trying.

Great idea, I did the same thing. When I was a kid my dad had his shop all organized and when he cleaned everything got put back in it's place. I always knew where to find things. Hubby is a really bad organizer. He will clean his shop but it's more like straightening. nothing goes in the same place twice and there are several places to possibly find the nails and screws. Now when I buy nails etc I keep them all in a bucket down in the tack room. He has his and I have mine. Same with the tools. I have my own tool box. So nice to be able to find a hammer or screw driver without wasting half my day. No one even bothers my tools. It's a walk from the garage/house to the tack room and everyone is too lazy. They would rather spend 1/2 hr looking in the garage for what they want. Thats just fine with me!

I did that too, and no matter what happens, my stuff gets put away in his tool boxes !!!&^%$#!!

My brother had a 1 million dollar tract home on Oahu, pool and all, not a big home at all...but he had an awesome job!!
He has been sent back here to Western WA and then back to Hawaii 2X...in 10 years and the same little ugly home had gone up 50 % from the first time he had sold it.
Hawaii is nice to visit, and great if you have the Corporate job and backing...but way too high a cost of living !

Ha! Glad to know I'm not the only one hiding my tool box! After years of not being able to find the tools I wanted because DH's are such an unattractive, unorganized mess, I finally started buying the things I used most often. Of course, he would find them, use them and then I'd never see them again or I'd find them months later in a completely random place. Now I have my pretty little toolbox hidden in my closet under the clothes rack. When I need something it comes out to serve it's purpose, then goes right back in it's perfect little hiding place. Makes my life so much easier to just have my own tools hidden than to have to gripe at DH. Or gripe at him for that anyway. After 20 years, we pick our battles I guess. The small things we just find devious ways to work around.
