This stupid thing isn't even a year old yet, has a brand new filter, and wont pump out heat, just blows air. The fan will NOT shut off!!!

Two days of non stop blowing fan with NO HEAT coming out.

This on top of DD being a terror, I can't pick up her toys fast enough. I'm about to start throwing things away! I get one area cleaned up and by the time I am done, I have to start in the other end of the house... Oh PLEASE little girl, take a nap NOW!

I need to go out to the woods and just sit, alone.

My DD still makes a mess like that, and she's 9!

One thing that worked with DS was a "Buy Back Box". If he left his stuff out, I would throw it all into the BBB. He earned tokens for doing homework, being polite, picking up, etc.. He could use the tokens to buy back his toys that I had thrown in the box. Anything in there for a month was donated to charity. I also had the video game console on a "Play Timer" which runs on coins so he could not play endlessly.

I was feeling pretty satisfied yesterday having paid the remainder of DD's college tuition, and apparently was taught a little lesson in humility this morning on my way to work when I was pulled over by a cop for having expired license tabs, (expired in November!) Truly shocked, I told him I hadn't received a notice because I honestly didn't remember receiving one. After taking my driver's license and registration I was silently cursing my carelessness and thinking I'd have to pay a $300 fine as I waited for him to fill out the paperwork. When he came back to the car he told me that if I paid for my tabs in the next 14 days I could take my paperwork to the little courthouse in Fircrest and just pay administration fees rather than the BIG fine. I was sincere when I thanked him and was relieved that I was only given a little nudge by the universe rather than a hard kick in the pants. Whew. I just hate getting in trouble when I try so hard to be good, but I guess I had something to learn. I was afraid this would put a serious dollar delay in my coop plans!

Cheryl, maybe it's not serious. A few years ago I had the same thing happen. It was just a dirty sensor. I had the repairman show me how to clean it myself. Just 2 minutes and a piece of steel wool.
Now I have a furnace guy come out every year and does a PM on it , in the fall. I prepay and they call me and schedule. It's great for the piece of mind.

Russ- glad it's 50+* degrees rather than 5*.

This is a really great idea, and I like it more than just throwing or giving them away... But at 2 years old, I'm not sure if she will understand the concept of a buy back box.

It seems to me that regular small X mas lights would make a little heat but that those LED lights encased would not make much heat at all...hmmm

According to his website and pictures they did the job.

My original experiment was flawed because I wasn't thinking right.
After ten hours of lights being on I only held one rope light thinking that isn't enough heat.

Failed to think but with multiple rows of lights like he has in picture and being enclosed my judgement was wrong.

After I re-read his blog post I discovered he had the same double insulated lights as mine which do not put out lot of heat by themselves.

That's where I messed up. By themselves.
So when other projects are done my goal is by end of Febuary if things go right get a seed bench up and running.

all was fine and i was in no hurry because he wasn't crowing... but now he is and i know (from experience) that my neighbor's patience will wear thin quickly.
