Wow, that's a nice setup! Now where was that 4 years ago when we were looking for a place to buy?? I'm horrible with WA geography (OR girl), but I'm also guessing it isn't next door to Spokane, lol. That is exactly how I was describing my "dream home location" the other night...we discuss what our "perfect home" would be like a lot...it helps us live in the house we have, lol.

ETA: I found the map feature...I don't think my SO would like that drive to work everyday, lol!

It's between Spokane and Colville I think. It should map quest or Google map. Just north of the Spokane Indian Reservation.,

For I tend to look in the area that is still commuter distance to the Spokane Airport. My DH just has to drive to the airport and back once a week for work. Mostly I am just dreaming. I don't think that we have any chance of getting out of this house for years to come. Over the past few years we have lost more than 100,000.00 in equity in it. So I doubt that we can sell ir for what we owe on it.

Hope everyone is doing ok with the high water. Here is an idea for when the water all goes away. There will be people who had sand bags and they may be wanting to get rid of them. I think this could be a great opportunity to get sand for your runs. Just keep in mind that if they are burlap bags the bags will rot very fast after getting wet(like in a couple months). Some of the plastic also rot pretty quick so keep this in mind when you try to pick them up they may just fall apart in your hand.

Why would you do that? Don't know what the type is on your Blue or Black Orps but the Lavenders type isn't that great right now. You need to breed the Lavenders to high quality Black Orps and thats all. If you want to breed for Blues breed them to the Blacks.

The thing is, I've seen some very good Blue Orps out there, and in fact, the English Type will likely boost the Lavenders ahead faster than the Blacks will. All that she needs to do is cull out the blue splits, use the black splits.

I think using blue is fine if you don't have any blacks available and if your blues are of great quality.

The water is mostly gone again

This is from the other day. It wasn't very bad at this point. I have seen the water 2 to 3 times higher in the back yard.

This is the far back corner of the yard away from the chickens and run.

We are pumping the water off of the property. The house next door and our place, pumps all the water for about 6 other houses. The drains around the footing of our house have never worked or at least haven't seemed to worked right. I need to hire someone with camera to figure out why. DH has always refused to just start digging it all up.

It don't help that we think the problem is under the front walkway or driveway.
