That's a beautiful, big house! Love it ... still too far from Redmond. Just dreaming, but wouldn't life be nice without a mortgage?

Wow, that's gorgeous! It's amazing what you can get for that price in that area. Too bad it's not in commute distance to Redmond. Maybe it is time to convince DH to retire early.

I know I have drooling over the properties and prices. But getting DH to even think about moving is more than I have ever managed. DH will tease or humor me once in awhile about moving somewhere else, but when actually comes down to it, I don't think he will ever agree. He loves the suburban sub-division.

The only thing that is keeping me sane here is the neighbors. The little street that I live on is so much nicer than when we first moved here. I shouldn't complain, it i nice enough here, and I really can't make up my mind where I really want to go. I am waffling between Downtown Seattle, or the Spokane area, or the mountain village in Ecuador. or it would be fun to snow bird between here and the area around Santiago Chile. Then I could just live in the spring and summer year around. I have issues.

Lots of roads here are still flooded. I'm still taking the long way out to get to town; and it is still raining here. I went to Bellevue last night, and from Preston west, it was dry. The rain clouds just seem to be stuck on us in the Upper Snoqualmie Valley. Temps are dropping quickly. I was surprised to see the snow level at about 1500 feet, a bit higher on the Mt. Si side. Right now it is 36 and slushy rain. A bit warmer and normal rain in town.

I hear ya though all of the new stuff is junk. Ya gotta have a computer to work on it and there aren't many true mechanics left. They are just parts changers and the computer tells them what part to change. Give me pre 80's and I can make it purr but most of the stuff after that is just more weight in a load of scrap.

We gave up on electric and manual can openers years ago, we only use a Swiss Army Knife.

They make can openers for left handed people.

I think I love shopping on Amazon.com

We stopped using them because it they stop working. The Swiss Army Knife works as well today as it did two years ago when we gave up on the other types of openers and it works the same in either left or right hand.

This house needs to be salvaged (the banisters, etc) and bulldozed.
Then build a new home, with up to date electrical, insulation, heating and water...and re-install all the cool old salvaged stuff so it looks like the same old home.
The home is a total loss, hence the cheap price...but, has a good well and septic and power ?
If not, an updated septic is in the $30K range, and a well can go very high as well....

It is awfully cute, and bet it has a great view, but reminds me of the house in the movie 'the Money Pit'

And Yes I own one. But hey when some one offers to give ya a 1 ton truck with a 12' flat bed and all ya have to do is drive it home who is gonna say no regardless of the hood ornament. I can change the ornament and in fact have the ornament and grill from an IHC that I will be putting on it (just because the GMC grill is broke).

And here is a pic of it with a little load of wood. Earning it's keep.
