Yes, that would work but know that it will still freeze in there without supplemental heat this time of year when the temps are freezing. You can put a heating cable in there just under the soil to at least keep the ground from freezing since soil temp is more important than air temp. If the sun is out it can get quite warm in there during the day even in winter but will cool right down over night.

at 14? you have to be 15 1/2 here to have a learners permit. I think you can be younger if you are only driving on the farm.

Actually you can get your permit at 15. My DS started drivers Ed a week before he turned 15. He got his permit the day he turned 15. I let him because I wanted the kids to have at least a full year of driving with an adult before being on their own. I got my permit at 15 also. I was 15 in July and got my permit in September. The thing is the kid has to be in drivers ed.

That will be interesting since we home-school.

Buffalo burger - right?

Anytime DH here buffalo, he puts his fingers on his head to look like horns and says "Tatonka"...."Dances with Wolves"?

So do I. I also say 'Good Trade" when it fits the moment.

I could see my DS do that! Better not let him read the idea, but if it's in any of the "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" books, we're already doomed. Luckily for now, he is starting to discover girls, and so has an obsession with clean clothes, Zit wash, and smelling like "Axe". (I won't get him the cologne, but their deoderant is strong enough to make you gag). I can tell whenever he has a zit, not by looking at his face but by walking in the bathroom and seeing all the ground black coal all over the sink and bathroom counter!

Sorry, it may be in the "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" books. All my kids love these books. My boys also love Axe.

My boys also like Axe.

Got up early, ran 1 mile to the gym, lifted weights and ran back.
I am pretty proud of myself....now for 364 more days.....

Yes. It is basically a cheap version of a "cold frame." I did it with my Sweet Potatoes last year for a little while.

If he wants to get his license when he turns 16 he has to have completed a state certified drivers ed class and as mentioned before he has to be enrolled in order to get his permit. The schools have programs but if you home school there are privately run classes also. They cost around $250. Or he can wait until he's 18 to get his license but you probably want him practicing driving before then.
