CR: The woman that bought the trio of RIR Batam at Chehalis was 'wthchristi'....and I do not think I have seen her post in a long time.
PM her, I guess.
DennisElk, excellent old photos !

And now on to the great announcement ::

I have a little black duck in the incubator.
He/she did not want to waite until next week.
The temperatures are perfect in there, 3 thermometers...the little black duck must have been a little along when I set these eggs on New Years Eve !

Tried to get photos, but left my camera in the car so it fogged badly when I brought it in the house.
So it will have to waite.
T-Hi you are a Grandmother !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The wee black duckie is still wet so maybe actually dark brown, but he/she gets up and stands tall and can run pretty good like a runner duck should.
I though he would waite like RFF said, but not this little guy.

No more pips so far, just this guy.

Luckily we're on our way to Seattle in about two weeks, so, I'm wondering if there's anything else I can do on the way there. I so RARELY head out that far.

Lucky Lucky Lucky!!!!!!!!!!

I got my 8 tomatoes planted yesterday...3 Tigerell, 3 Stupice and 2 red grape cherrie.
This is enough to keep us gagging on tomatoes and all the chickens too.
Last year I also had a quarter acre of Italian plum Romas for canning sauce, but I do not have the room in this little barn for cases of tomatoe sauce,,,

I hate buying nasty store bought vegies !
Next is the Pumpkins, Winter Squash and after that, Hor house cucumbers (also used to can bread and butter pickles to DIE for !!) and summer squash.
We will start framing the green house here in the next few days.
We delivered Weavagarden's feed and she looks like she is doing OK although also tired of winter like the rest of us.

We're driving a Toyota Yaris.

If I had a truck, I'd say so and certainly get a LOT of boxes and whatever else I can. . .

My first husband got arrested on a DUI many, many years ago. It did teach him a lesson. When he drank, he arranged an alternate means of transportation, so it was a good thing in the long run.

Hope you are having a better night tonight.

Since there are only two of us, I'm figuring a small coop of egg layers, and a small coop of something fun would work out just fine this spring.

Sebrights are showy little bantam chickens that come in Silver or Golden. Both are very pretty. Here's a link to them on Feathersite: http://feathersite.com/Poultry/CGP/Sebr/BRKSebrights.html

Thank you so much...We had a silver Seabright. I just went and looked at the web site information that you had sent. The hubby was reading over my shoulder. I don't want them because they give such small eggs, but the one we had had was such a sweety. He really wants another.

I'm averaging three eggs a day form four chickens on the stuff. That's pretty good for this time of year.

There is an ever growing pile of rabbit smart pills here for you too, also not fun in an enclosed vechicle
lol.png

I am dumping them in big plastic tubs to make it easier and cleaner for you to tote the smart pills home....but have to have them returned.
I also have to dispose of/sell 3 young rabbits about 3 months old...as the cage is needed for the next generation of 7 bunnies, so if you can pick up a few buns that would be nice...else in the freezer they will go.
