Looks yummy.. .

I took some dough out of the tote in the fridge, will be baking some fresh bread this afternoons.

Cool you must be making the same type of bread that I do. I love how simple it is to make.

LOL it is quite tasty! Might have to remember this one for future reference. lol Even though it wasn't meant to turn out this way. lol I'm thinking maby following the directions to bake at 350* might be a little off... I think this batter might do better at 375*-400*

Okay I just read this part. I agree start out hotter and then turn it down after about 30 minutes or so.

Yep I still want it. I have a lovely orange bag that still has BOSS in it. I want to make that one into a bag also. I will PM with the address, or I could try hooking you up with my in-laws they live in Renton out by the gun club. They are on the north side of Maple Valley Hwy.

The one I used was like the little one in the back.... I'd have trouble lifting the other!

Another thing that I found a must .... heavy leather chaps! (Was it jbear who had some....?), The forest service required them. Some were leather, others were Kevlar with I think a metal mesh inside. I preferred the leather, but I've seen a guy carelessly cut his leg while wearing them; it was not a pretty sight, but at least he did not lose it. He also hit his boot between 2 toes. Luckily his boots were too big (can't wear steel toes when you fight fires).

That sounds sooooo good! I got about a dozen jars of cinnamon plum sauce I made a couple years back before the bear discoverd the plums. Not sure what to make with them. One friend put some on a pork roast, another on vanilla ice-cream and a third on salmon. My kids just use it for PBJ's. I also have blueberry plum jam (kids complained it was too seedy) so I strained the next batch of blueberries to remove a lot of the seed, and it came out too runny. Lots of jars of all those left as well. Maybe I'll try making something like you did. I have splenda, though I don't care for the taste in tea, but perhaps it is better in your dish (the honey always helps!)

Yes I agree on using chaps. I wear kevlar. The "little" saw an 044 with 28" bar. The other one has a 6' and a handle for the second man on the end of the bar.

Chain saws are a lot of fun. I just got a new chain on my girl chainsaw.

DH got his running again, but I don't know that I can get it started all the time. I have a little electric saw that does just about every thing I can ever need done here in suburbia.

Now I just need a dry day and some energy. I need to prune a plum and walnut tree, and I want to take a cherry tree out. I wanted a dwarf tree, and I have never been able to reach the cherries on this tree. Now I want the sunlight back in my yard, more than I want cherries for the birds.

This is an interesting site. Half way between Omak and Seattle is Leavenworth.

Yes I'll be doing some major hatchin' this year....now that I think I have the "strength" to eat any extra roos I can't sell....

I do have "fancy" breeds and I do show....some are better layers than others. I do have a 1 year old Light Sussex hen for sale she's laying well but has too much excess black on her back for me to show....so I'm selling her and she's laying now.

Edited to add: YES! I almost always have culls that have too much white, the wrong pattern, a funky comb, a crooked toe, etc. But they would be happy & healthy productive members of a laying/backyard flock without any issues.

I usually don't sell chicks until they are a few months old so I can sex them and pick out my keepers from the culls...unless I do a custom hatch then they go right away because it's something I am planning to keep & breed for myself.

I'm interested in layers as well, though I do like a colorful flock, I can't pick a breed just like I can't pick what color flowers to plant in my hanging baskets ... a little of everything. Maybe I should plan a trip east one day and pick up culls for CL and I. I think you are quite a few hours away from North Bend though, maybe have to time it with a trip to see the laser light show on the dam. Went out there with 2 visiting Aussie families for the opening a couple years back and it was broken! So was the glass elevator, and the hotel lost our bookings, and so we all had to crowd in one room. Promised the kids I'd take them back out there some day.....
