Hey Jbear: When are you coming back over to this side of the mtns? DH has decided that we can use a couple of more chickens....I don't even know if you are even anywhere near CL or CR or if they have any extras.

CR: What is your status on your mini RR? They sound like nice birds.

CL: Do you have any young ladies to sell?

Heather: I want to get ahold of you too, now that the weather is starting to turn warm. I have a nice dry place to put birds to quarantine them....but it would not be the warmest in the minus weather we where having....I think we are starting to be warmer now and could do just fine. Do you still have that one young hen?

I need more chickens like I need another teenage boy (I have 2 and they are eatine me out of house and home)....but unlike teenage boys....I love to watch the "hen clicks" out in my back yard. I am getting 5-6 eggs a day right now...truly don't need more.

CL and CR I just would not know how to get any birds from you to me...that is why I was wondering if Jbear may be coming over here....if she is anywhere near you. Jbear: I will gladly give you gas money.

I'm working on a quilt for a friend of mine. She loved the first one I did for her. I enjoyed the Celtic pattern --

This one's for me

(Don't know WHY the uploading process turns my pictures on their side!)

4312 Sorry I have nothing for sale. keep in mind that I am not into breeding. We just have a few chickens for DW and for eggs.
CL and I are about 60 miles apart. She is west of me in Raymond. I am basically at I-5 and Hwy 12 (the white pass hwy that goes to Yakima).
I am planning to get some RIR B but have to build a coop. When I do get them going I would be more than happy to supply some hatching eggs. Not sure if I will try to hatch unless I let our little Silkiebator do it.

Yeah I'll have to admit, I might not even come out to Seattle at all. My family are figuring out the dates and all still, but the real reason they're going is for the puppy, they'd care less for me picking up or dropping off chickens (even though they love my Tolbunts and want to cut back on our flock) sooo. . . Looks like I nor the chickens will be going to Seattle, but someone else will be taking my seat.

Thanks CR....I do not have an incubator...nor do I know how to do. I am just so intrigued by your RIR B. Maybe later this year or next year I can get some eggs from you (If I get brave and try to hatch some out).

Maybe the guy you bought yours from will have some again. Again, I truly do not need more chickens.

FDA nutritional facts state that chicken eggs and quail eggs are nutritionally the same.
Quail eggs do have 29% yoke to egg ratio. chicken eggs is 22% ratio
I've heard they supposedly have no bad cholesterol but again egg studies show same for chicken vs quail if fed the same foods.
Kids do better if eating 2 eggs a day..... I'd say thats just that kids do better if they get more protein then the modern diet is. I know with my nephew if he was cranky we would make him eat something like yogurt, cheese, or drink milk. He would then be the happy kid we normally had.

btw I raise quails and sell eggs and birds. The eggs taste the same but are "creamier" due to the extra yoke.
and I've not noticed any great health etc from eating the eggs

Are you sure you don't feel more energetic & younger after the dose of quails egg tea I brewed??

the purple one

Ewwwwwwwwww very pretty!!
These kinds of wall hangings are way cool too...as you can display the quilt, it is smaller and so faster, and you can change them per seasons and holidays, AND remember, you only have so many beds.
In my case, I have too many big quilts...so start doing several as gifts per year...and never see them again:hit

Can you PM me a pic of the free standing feeder?

CL, I love your quilts! I have a bunch of nice squares I made while preganant with DS, scenes from Alaska while we were traveling. I still have not done anything with them! DD will inherit a 1/2 way complete large needlepoint that I worked on while pregnant with her.

ooh that sounds beautiful, you should finish it !

Hello, fellow Washingtonians!

I live in Maple Falls -- approximately 45 minutes east of Bellingham.

I raise Araucana chickens (the rumpless/tufted kind).

Is anyone going to the Lynden fair this summer?

We're going for it. probably only the Lynden and the Monroe fair this year. Hopefully we'll see you there! we'll have Dark Brahamas probably both Bantams and Standards, and Black Langshan Bantams, with some Rhodies for good measure. and I got an APA membership for Valentines day! My wife knows me very well.
