I sure am glad that I heathed the winter warning with my hatch and plant growth.
It's snowing like crazy, little sticking too.
The new addition from Napal seems to love it though.
Kinda don't know what I'd do if I started like last year in Nov. I'd probibly have 250 chicks by now.

Went to the Monroe Farm Supply today to candle the eggs. Out of 4 1/2 dz eggs 4 were no goes.
Bummer, that's not 100%. Well over 90% though.
Mostly Black Copper Marans some were Barnevelder.
Likely going to have some coming in next week. They will be availible @ the farm supply. You can also see the darkness of the eggs too, that's what makes it sooo.... nice.
Suppose nobody is realy looking for some chicks @ this point, but I'm sure proud of my flock!!!!

I think the Good Samaratin Law applies; you did your best, no need to feel guilty, but it still is very sad.

I worked in my new coop all day - I used the linoleum scraps to trim all the window sills. When I bought the 10X12 hunk, they had to cut it an extra foot (12X13), because someone had cut a sample out from a corner of the roll, only a couple inches off! It came in handy. My camera battery is charging now. I took some pics, and the battery died.

The hens are very happy in their new house. Since I was in the coop all day, they hung out with me and rarely wandered to the coverd yard (which has 2" of snow through much of it because of the winds!) Though it snowed for much of the day, we have less snow now than we did in the morning. It is down to about a foot deep, maybe a little deeper. Still covers the ruler in most areas.

Ok, so today was my first full day of work in over a week. I is a tired girly......

So this is gonna be short and as sweet as I can make it!

My DD is teaching Daffy to come on command!!

Hmmmm..... wonder if it's just the kale that she is holding in front of her!!?

Oh well, DD is now seriously thinking about the 4-H thing. This is quite the tame little duck! Could be fun fun fun!!!

Oh and I also was praying for the snow! I am praying so hard tonight that I have a headache! Driving a school bus in all that white slippery stuff today was NOT fun!

I am totally exhausted and need a day to recoup from today!
