I have a question....one of my girls is laying an egg at night while on the roost. It drops on the poop tray and breaks obviously. What causes an established layer to do this? This is their second laying year and I don't get it. Any ideas? It's happened a couple of times now. Not everyday though.

CL- I have to go out and do the same thing with my nylon netting too. It kinda sucks to go out there knowing you will get seriously drenched in snow and there is nothing you can do about it. Lol!

Yes, Spokane got a boat load of the white stuff....I had to take my SO to the airport at 3:30 this morning in it! Here is what it looked like then... I should mention this is out my front door and after the shoveling...there's about 12" on the ground, all from overnight.

And it continues snowing and blowing the whole way to the airport! I got lost coming home (it's all freeway) and thought I missed my turn twice. Luckily there weren't too many people on the freeway at that time of "day", so I was able to drive where ever I wanted without worrying about other people thinking I wasn't in a lane! I also did a max speed of 30 MPH.... I took my dog with me for company too, she'll go with me again tonight when I have to go get him from the airport again at 7pm, he's only in Seattle for the day.
