See this is what I was trying to figure out. lol Where and how to brood them outside of my house. I have no problem having them in the house for the first week or two, but after that, when they need more space. I like to move them "out," so they have more space.
When I brood in the summer, they are outside from 4-7 days old, in a big rubbermaid tub, with a screen lid and heat lamp. Once they outgrow that, I have a 4x8x2.2' juvenile pen. Intergration starts here, as my older flock free ranges. They would just have fencing between them...
But back to reality. Its winter. And my normal set up just isnt going to work. SO... I need to figure out what to put them in, until they are feathered out...
I'm toying with the idea of converting my DD's old wooden crib into a brooder. lol
