NOAA PREDICTIONS FOR ME:

Jean,
Did you get my last PM? I think I sent it either yesterday or day before yesterday?

We have 16 inches of snow on the lawn. It has not snowed any more here today, in fact, the sun sometimes make a brief appearance.

My flamigos are drowining:

Willow - my sweet I-90 rescue ... not sure how old she is, we found her as an adult 8 years ago. The chickens follow her around as she watches over them:

Shasta - Nasty young dog. She's hoping I will let her in the coop to feed on chicken snacks, blech. Chicken poop breath!

Well Jeanine, I just spent several minutes perusing the auction site where I have no business being, and I saw your latest offering for SF eggs. You realize it's auctions like yours that make it difficult for some folks to resist buying an incubator and get into more trouble don't you? Just sayin'. Beautiful birds of yours...

Yay! One of my Ameraucanas I raised from chicks finally laid her first egg today! These two Ameraucanas (Zoey and Zola) are almost 10 months old, and I was beginning to wonder if they'd ever start laying. The other Golden Sexlink and Buff Orpington pullets I got at the same time (so same age) have been laying for 4-5 months. I'm hoping this means they might they'll lay productively longer than those that started younger, and that the other Ameracauna will start laying soon too. Anyone have opinions on said theory?

Just had to share with some folks that might understand well my excitement. :)

6 inches of snow dropped on Duvall last night, but it now only looks like 3 or so after melting and compacting. I'm loving the portable hoop run I recently built - it was easy to just throw a tarp on to keep out the snow. :)

we got some last night but not even 1/2 inch on ground
then it vanished

now its snowing here again

and I wanted to goto the market to get some fruits/veggies

Im thinking of ordering from a hatchery. Anyone in the Seattle area want to get anything from the hatchery while I am at it? I was looking at Ideal to get some chicks from.
