From what you described I would say bobcat or cougar. You need to be VERY careful going out there in the dark. Bobcat would probably scare off. On the other hand if it was cougar it could have been still there watching you. Personally I would not nor would I recommend going out there unarmed. Most critters will scare off prety easy but cougar don't fall into the most catagory. DW's nephew had a near face to face (they were about 6-8' apart) with one here in Dec. And he said that kitty was not very happy. For what it's worth they say cougar is some of the best tasting meat. Yes people eat them.

I miss Beths Cafe!!! At one point in time I was a regular there. lol I miss the city some times, but I refuse to raise my DD there... If we were to ever move back to the east side of the sound, I think we would wind up in South King county. But thats a HUGE IF!

If anyone ever comes over to the Kitsap Penninsula, send me a message! Its rare that anyone ventures out this way.

Cheryl, are you close to Port Gamble? My DDs want to have a day trip to Port Gamble(paranormal happenings) and then head over to Forks (stupid Twilight) I keep telling them I've been to Forks lots of times and theres no vampires or werewolves!!!lol

Yep Im about 10 minutes away from Port Gamble! Its a cute little neighborhood, they try to call it a town, but I have a hard time calling it that. lol Blink and you miss it. I love the church in Port Gamble Such a cute building, and the victorian type/era houses I absolutely love!

LOL your girls want to see paranormal happenings? lol Let me take them to what the locals call the "blue mist cemetary." Its on Bainbridge Island, and garenteed to freak the kids out. lol

Yeah, Ive never seen any Vamps or wherewolves in Forks iether!

My sister and mother did the 101 loop a couple years ago. Stopped at 1st beach, collected a bunch of sand, rocks, and driftwood. Thought they could sell it on Ebay!

Well they never sold any of it, and now its all sitting in a shed... Ah the whims of crazy women. lol

Quite the shock at 6AM. Walk out the door, go to start the truck, look up, and there are those glowing amber colored eyes not 15-20 feet away... Scared the applesauce right out of me! There screams are terrifying also. Makes your hair stand up on end.

Good! She is much more computer savvy than her dad. I love that bell, I may have to commission one from you myself! Could you PM me the price?

With the post from Ogress about the visitor I am going to throw this out and probably get run off like a stray dog but .... Now I like my chickens and will do my best to protect them. However unfortunately I will not risk my life for them. And this is something I would encourage you to think about. Look at the big picture. If something gets your chickens you lose eggs, your pet and whatever $ you have invested. That's pretty sad. Now IF worst case that predator takes you. You will not be there to care for the ramaining chickens and collect those wonderful eggs they work so hard to give. Your family will be left with a huge void! And you would be missed here on BYC.
Now I know this has probably touched some nerves. It is not intended to sound cold just being realistic.

I don't remember how big I made the bell for Ron.
OK hope I don't get run off. But since I have had several WA people ask about the bells I am going to try to make it easy and save a lot of PM's. I can do the bells in 6" or 8" diameter. I am doing either size X 18"-20" long for $75. That includes a custom designed sail on the bottom (like the sun in the pic I posted) and painted the color you want (or sanded so it will rust

). I can also make other lengths and brackets to hang from if you need.
