So you are building a barn and then later you will make it a home?

Eggzactly, once it is inspected & signed off as safe to occupy, and everyone leaves...and all is quiet, we will wire it & sheetrock, etc and move in!!
And they cannot kick us out as it will be certified as occupyible & safe.
Get it ?
If we just buit an "AG" barn, it would not be inspected & later if we got caught they could fine us & kick us out and to move in we would have to have it inspected and that would be near impossible after it was already finished.

Mental note taken. Thanks

In our county to build a barn before or without a house on the land it needs to be on 40 acres or more.

Broody if you go to get another fan. Make it easy on yourself. DO NOT BUY A xxVDC BUY A 110VAC. The first one will require a seperate power supply the second can plug right into wall outlet. If you have trouble finding a 110 VAC fan let me know I think I have some left. I installed one of them in my LG and think I have more.

K! Thanks. With the new deflector I hovering right between 99-100* on top, middle and bottom. So time will tell if I need another one. RH is right at 40-45% if I add 20cc twice a day.

DH was just trying to use the shiny red thing on the driveway again so he can get his VW out of the garage. I heard him spitting out some real colorful phrases and he just came in wanting to borrow my myr to get to the hardware store as his kluge on the thing fell apart. I drove the kids in to school after I heard the plow go by on the main road. It is still snowing.

We boiled some eggs this morning, and as DD was peeling one, I noticed the color looked odd, so I cut it open. Yuck! what is this? We don't own a rooster:

Roosters have nothing to do with odd colors or shapes in eggs!

Looks like a meat chunk or blood spot. . . It's a normal thing. Cut around it and you're fine. Eat it and you're fine.

Thanks - I think I'll give it to the dogs. Smells fine. The egg was laid on the 19th I think by a SLW that just started to lay. Are all her eggs going to be like this?

(posted this in the wrong spot, couldn't get it moved so I am just posting it again)

Been away awhile. Didn't want to keep jackin my jaws here when we hadn't started the coop plans or anything.

We have the coop plans drawn, have our shopping list made, we just ordered the wire. We are on the move. Can't wait.

But that is all in the past now. Will be starting the coop next week. Now to get the weather to cooperate. Sheesh!

HELP! I know I should probably post this on some thread on health or something, but you guys seem like a knowledgable lot!

So, two days ago the roof over my chicken yard (layers) collapsed. It sorta twisted, so it didn't really come down where it could smash anyone. But I noticed my pet turkey wouldn't come out from under. So taday I climbed in there and found him lying down. Now, he has NEVER laid down when I am in the pen. I made him get up to go to the feeder and there was a HUGE egg under him. Now, he is DEF a MALE turkey. So i thought I had lost my mind. But convinced myself the goose (who I guess is female!) must have laid it.

He kept going over and lying down on it. I think its just a co-winky-dink, but then (sob) I noticed his neck was wry.

He is having trouble standing, sorta staggers, and his neck is over to the side a bit.

I need to know if he will get better or if I need to put him down right away to keep him from suffering. I've heard of "wry neck" but don't know much about it.

Thanks for any replies...
