This is the part where the duct tape comes in handy.

Also works to tape up big cuts, and warts.

WARTS ???????????

Yup, it works because it cuts out the air supply. in a couple of weeks of walking around with duck tape hanging, it will all be gone.

Bolddog, as far as I know, birds are born with wry neck, and it is genetic, they do not just 'get' it later on.
I could be wrong, but that is all I have been told.
I have never seen a grown bird suddenly go 'wry'
He may have a sore neck or was injured ?

I looked back on the 2010 calendar & the Javas were hatched on Nov 21 so they are 4 mo old this mo on the 21st..a few more weeks and they should begin lay.
I am thinking since they are a heritage breed and mature slowly, that they will be laying with a month and half to 2 months at the longest..........

Just curious...has anyone ever tried to teach day old chicks to drink out of a bunny water bottle? Thought it might keep the water in the brooder cleaner.

I did that !!
I had 2 cockeral fighting, so I caught one & locked him in an empty rabbit cage, and later that day I noticed the bird was pecking at and drinking from the rabbit bottle, don't know about chicks, the water drops might be too big & drown them ??

Maybe a hamster size would help?

Mine drank from a huge one that came with my dog kennel. It drips a lot more than the nipple feeders. They were about 2 weeks old when I started them. To this day, they prefer the big bunny/puppy waterer to any other type. They did not need any training because they peck at anything shiny.
