Never mind I went back and looked. It was your question about if WA wins who gets the coop. I like the idea CL had. Sell raffle tickets for $1 (among the group who were present imo) and then the $ could go toward future get to gethers. I will also throw out another idea of maybe helping others (like young people) get started or ??

Thanks, but it's even better to see you back in one piece! Thought maybe you had been working too hard on all those bell orders. There are some really cute welded chicken statues at our local nursery I'm going to take pictures of for you. Kind of whimsical. Used old painted sheet metals. Really colorful. I bet you can make those too. I'm going to go buy one today so I'll get pics today.

movement, handling, lack of heat & lack of or sudden lack of humidity.

I guess all that is possible but other people argue that the mother hen is turning eggs and off the nest so whats the harm? I did read that you should wear gloves to keep oils and bacteria off the shells but if the hen gets off the nest each day the lack of heat and humidity was a natural regular occurence. I usually candle on day 7 so I can throw out the clears and make room in the bator then on day 18 before lockdown. Any more just takes up my time and is unnessesary but when I first started hatching I questioned my judgment and checked all the time. LOL, just couldn't take it. So eggciting.

I cannot argue about that, I have watched my broodies & sometimes they are off the nest for 10 minutes or more.
In fact, I have heard it is almost necessary for her to get off the nest everyday so the eggs can 'breathe'.....anyone else heard that ?
I also do not understand why they say to raise the humidity at day 18, the hen certainly cannot raise her humidity ?!?!
Like she has a knob somewheres, and alot of top hatcheries (like Stromberg) recommend you lower the incubator temp a few degrees on day 18 to pip, so the chicks are not too hot when they are trying to hatch out.
Hens can't raise their temps either.

Basically if somebody can draw it or get me a pic I can probably cut it. Now I think some people may not quite understand the idea of how my stuff works but to sum it up I basically have to do a silouhett (sp) or negetive. I am toying with the idea of some 3D stuff but due to the added labor this stuff may be cost prohibitive for too many people. I may be cheep but Im easy!! (to get along with

LOL I said that a few pages ago for folks that are going to the Monroe show, but nobody said anything, so I figured there was no interest....

I didn't know who Tudy was. I looked it up on Facebook and found a Romanian politician by that name. (He is absolutely gorgeous by the way.) I figured that it was unlikely that was who was being mentioned, so I waited for a better explanation. I up for the picture in Monroe.

I am kind of disappointed in the Tudy that we have to get the picture with, now that I have seen the Romanian dude. I might be a bit old, but I not dead yet.

I haven't got a flippin' clue what "goes up" is....you have to tell me. A straw, maybe?

Why are people such flakes? I sent $ for a trio of bantams to someone (a well-known breeder I might add) with the understanding that I was going to pick them up at the show. I get an e-mail this morning refunding my PayPal with a note saying that he changed his mind, they are too rare and he doesn't want to part with any of them.

On another note, I'm going out to clean nest boxes and my bantam areas....

I found this:

And I'm saving up for it....this will make cleaning a lot easier! Plus, I think it would work for a broody.

I was reading, here a few months back what you and some others were posting and I am happy that I have only the $400....but there are additional fees if they flunk a test or miss an assignment, etc. Like a $50 fine per assignment. Seems crazy to me. When I took Driver's ED, it was done inthe school and it was $25. This is before or after now. Our oldest is almost 18 and we told him that for him to take Driver's ED he had to 1. get a job and help pay for everything. 2. Grades at B or higher. 3. Make sure all assignments always turned in. He wouldn't even try. So he does not have his dirver's license. This can be a pain at times, but I'm sorry....my thought is that a driver's license is not a "GIVEN". it is "EARNED". My now 15.5 yo has nearly straight A's, is already lookng for a job to help pay. He also is very active in multiple sports and is maintaining his grades....he has "EARNED" the right to get his license. His insurance is going to be around $150 a month. Yikes.
