No thats not me selling the chicks. I am keeping what I hatch out. I am just getting started good and for now I want to grow out most and see what I have as far as show quality. The lady with the chicks, is breeding all the colors together and I am not up for that at all. I am picky and have my girls segregated with the boy that I want them bred to, so I know for sure who the parents are. Comes from being a show dog breeder I guess..... I am loving these chickens though.

it's a somewhat expensive fix, but instead get an inverter that plugs into your car, and run the engine in that car ....

or get a generator

also not a bad idea to get as much "thermal mass" into your incubator as you can, for next time

bottles/jugs of water --- bricks --- sacks of rice or beans or lentils

help hold the heat during a power outage

I'm not going to the show, actually.

If I knew people were actually interested in Araucanas in WA, I'd go and I'd bring some, but so far I've seen so little interest, and so with my Shamo not being eligible after his recent fights and only one other cock I was going to bring. . . It isn't worth the 10 total hours or more of driving, the ferry cost, the cost of eating, staying, etc. For one bird to show, whom I'm apparently not even going to breed the color variety of anymore. . . .

I got word today that a very good friend in in The UW and things are not looking. Cancer and several organs failing. They said he has a 50/50 of making it a year.
