Don't feel so awful. Putting her down was the best thing you could have done for her and gatorade was the only thing that would come to my mind too.
She knows she was loved and that is what really matters. Life afterall is all about creating and leaving behind wonderful memories, and I'm sure she had lots of warm fuzzy memories and lots of happy times.
We had to put our golden down and I felt like I betrayed her trust, and our entire family was bawling...at different times. But deep down we knew that we made a good decision even though it was a hard one.
And you did too.

I'm sorry you lost her.

Maybe Fern can PM Casey and the 2 of them can go explore their new home in the fluffy blue sky.

You mean eat the honey??
I have a 5 day supply of antibiotics for my cough that I am just starring at. Hate to take the stuff, but I hate bacteria just as much.

We smear it on cuts and scrapes, suck on spoons of it when we feel a sore throat comiing on, use it to sweeten tea ... I had shingles once and MRSA on my leg a few years back ... spread quickly in just 2 days from something that looked like a zit to a blistering, burning, itchy rash in just 2 days ...3 doctors, 6+ antibiotic perscriptions later (that is when I developed my antibiotic allergy while my DD and my mom were born with their allergies). They told me my skin was going to blacken and slough off. They told me the honey was voodoo medicine. I figured at that point, it could do no more harm, so I slathered it all over my leg, wrapped it in pads, gauze and cloth diapers to try and keep it off the bed sheets, in 2 days the rash was gone! Within a week, my skin looked fresh and new, no skin turned black and sloughed off. Best of all, at least at the time, it completely soothed the pain, burning and itching. We always kee it on hand.

The ancient Egyptians used honey to prevent infection. Since the doctors think it's voodoo medicine, that's one thing the staph bacteria haven't had a chance to develop a resistance to. Scott developed an allergic reaction to the sulfa drug they were giving him last fall for mrsa. They skipped the other drugs. Glad it worked for you.

Oh, I'm sorry you had to say goodbye to one of your animals. That's always so hard. Sounds like your pet had a wonderful friendship with you, and a bright, happy life.

We eat alot of rice here at home. And purchase/go through a 20lb bag of calrose rice every 2 months. We buy ours at Albertsons, as we dont have a costco membership. But we pay $28.00, or around there, for the 20 lb bag. How much does a 50lb bag cost at costco?

It is usually the price of wood that goes up after a Japanese Tsunami I noticed.

Oh no, that means toilet paper!

Did primitive folks use leaves? These are things I've never had to consider before. Think I'll go to Costco tomorrow and start hoarding rolls of TP.

Any disaster like that is going to mean us exporting our lumber over there, and great news for me building a house

We get our loads of wine supplies on pallets. I can start saving for anyone who could use 'em!
