Pretty sure none were eaten. It's okay though - I've got the buck, and they're making poo for now which is fine with me.

Yeah, if you mail them today, you MIGHT get them in on time. . . I myself decided to just skip this one. Mailman already passed by us, we're not headed to town anytime soon, so. . . I'll wait until our county fair.

The next show is in October, right?

I thought it had to be POSTmarked by the 26th ?????????

They don't have to be THERE by the 26th, just POSTMARKED!

Problem is, county fair doesn't allow you to measure your birds against others in quite the same fashion. Also, fall shows won't be APA semiannuals or nearly as large. If you can possibly make it to the APA semiannual it is the place to be.

If you want top SQ bantam cochins in blue, black, splash or white as well as frizzles in all aforementioned colors, or standard cochins in buff, or silkies in buff or white, see Sheryl Butler. I'm a silkie and goose gal myself, although I do have SLW LF.

Jean has SQ Ameraucanas and sebastopol geese and is over at west side for shows...

Dottie has Porcelain d'uccles and bantam cochins that are SQ

Kristina Korfus for LF orpingtons

Erhard Weiss for LF orloffs, welsummers, bantam wyandottes, etc

Steve Waters for araucanas in bantam and LF

Cindi Smith for anything and everything polish

Rick and Donna Hare (live on east but show on west side and elsewhere) for OEG and call ducks

Jen (jbear) for butterscotch calls and mille fleur cochins, plus whites cochins and Seramas

Bob Anderson or Heidi (shoot, forget last name) for LF black, blue, or splash cochins

If you are interested in ducks, there's a guy with some pretty nice saxonies (I have two pair for sale... culled down from two dozen birds from him last year)

and many more.... although rebuilding his flock currently (from chicks) has so you would have to wait, Tony Albritton very nice LF white wyandottes.

Dan Jerome has great white calls and bantam white wyandottes and is very active in Washington Feather Fanciers.

Brian Decker is the go-to guy for bantam cornish.

I just edited my info you put up there

I'm always amazed at how busy this WA thread is - what a great chicken-loving community!

I have a couple newbie questions. First, I live about 20 miles south of Seattle and am wondering if there is anywhere local that sells food grade DE. I'm planning on doing the deep litter method in our 4x4 coop and have read that DE really helps. Second, my girls are about to graduate from their brooder and I'm trying to decide what to use in the run. Our run will be covered with corrugated plastic but I'm still expecting it to get a little wet. I know my grass will be done in about 30 seconds and would like to avoid having a mud pit. I have 4 black sex links and the run is about 10x4.

Thanks!
