RieMrra meant HER side of the mountain...geeze I'd love weeds like that. They are a member of the Chinese Lantern family, and I had those in Eastern OR and they did try to take over, lots of underground roots & dying back to the ground every fall.
Funny plants, huh ?

I have 2 projects with the 3 Cornish Cockerals I have ordered, one is over white rock hens, the second is over Buckeye hens, the later should produce an outstanding meat bird as the Buckeyes are so waide & broad breasted already.
So I am going to try both.
I have been watching the batch of W&BW Chicks, now juveniles and half fledged, and I seriously think everyone is wheaten

a couple days old you can wing feather sex.
After that, watch their combs.
Cockeral EE will have 3 rows of bumbs on his comb, a pullet will have 1.
Wings with 2 distinct rows of feathers =pullet, One single row of wing feathers all the same length=cockeral
Outside of that, combs will swell wider & redden on cockerals.
Cockerals as a general rule, are bolder than pullets.
Hope this helps.
There are links on BYC to sex by wing feathers .

That's a big relief!!!

I had 8 tomatillos last year. Started them in the house and then put them outside in pots at first. If the weather was to get below 45* I covered them w/ plastic so by the time they went into the ground they had nice stout stems and grew like weeds. They ended up being 4ft wide and about 3ft tall. Had so many fruits, I probably could have gotten away with just 4 plants. I left some fruits on the ground to see if they will self seed but with this weather it may be July before they do! I think the name was Aunt Molly's from Territorial Seed Co.

I am shoppin...not much else to do this drizzly day.......I also have all sorts of sunflowers & Country Romance Hollyhocks to plant indoors...and purple alysum to sow outdoors....better get my butt in gear but when DH is gone it is so nice to lay around lazy...cannot do that when he is here!

I'd be curious about telling them apart too.
